21 Inc is relaying new blocks

This looks like the Raspberry Pi system that 21 Inc has developed (https://21.co/) and they are having a pre-order. Till this day, I haven't figure out how this device works. It is not a miner but it simply runs as a full node. Suddenly, it is becoming more prominent in the chain. What's going on?

What do you mean, what's going on? It's a full node. Full nodes relay all blocks, new and old. Blockchain.info receiving a block from a particular node has nothing to do with who mined it, it only tells you which node was lucky and/or fast enough to relay that block to Blockchain.info before other nodes.

Yes, and besides this the device has a mining chip, unlike OP has said. It's not powerful but it has a "one in a billion" chance to find a block

I pointed out 21 inc because it only appeared recently (last 3-4 days or so). If it is acting as a lottery device, how different is it from Antminer R1 router?

I still don't understand how 21 Inc device works. Any technical experts please enlighten me.

They should include a miner chip in devices that are constantly switched-on:

1) Fridge/refrigerators
2) Routers
3) Heaters

Or semi-turned on

The job of Fridge / Air conditioners is to make shit cold.  To do that, they move a shit load of heat away from the place that is getting cold.  This is hard to do.  It makes even more heat when moving heat, and that heat has to also be moved away from the cold area - causing even more heat!  Now, some fucking genius like biggbox wants to put a heat generator right in there?  What the fuck is wrong with this community that we got so many fucking retarded idiots?  How did that happen?  

I am pretty sure bitcoin is going to fail miserably because we got guys like biggbox engineering the dumbest fucking machines imaginable.

Have to agree here.. What the fuck is the use for miners in lamps or refrigerators or whatever? The only effect it has is a higher power use and an increased heat production.

Totally unwanted. The 21 inc machine one the other hand, is somewhat useful as it increases the number of nodes to the network.

I've read this product getting some hate. "It's pointless". How is this pointless? It's a great idea. One of the reasons I don't keep my node 24/7 is because my computer is not powerful enough, so im stuck with only running it when im not using it. This device would allow 24/7 usage.

isn't better to buy a pen drive, and try the lottery, with it, it will still cost you nothing, and it won't interfer with appliances usage

maybe buy new efficient one, because the old one are still using the old chipset

There already are light bulbs able to mine BTC, so in the future bitcoin mining toaster could be an overkill.
I wouldn't be surprised if every electronic device would be able to mine some sort of cryptocurrency in near future.

Go ahead and play the lottery.  Buy an Antminer R1 and enjoy your fantasy about 25 (soon 12.5) free bitcoins.  However, don't put your R1 in your fucking refrigerator or in your air conditioned house.  This is as dumb as pounding sand - or playing lotto while dreaming of riches.
