I am six months into my bitcoin journey and I long for mainstream adoption as much as anyone else.
It's just that I can't handle the current price rise!!
It's like a dagger through my heart everytime I check the current price. The reason is purely selfish, because I haven't got as many coins as I would like.
Just wondering if anyone else is going through this emotional rollercoaster ?

I have been for more than a year into Bitcoin, I have gotten used to it, specially lately because the price was really really stable compared to the old times. Of course, once we start seeing crazy rides it's going to get really exciting again. We will see a lot of people being depressed because they sell way too early and realize they made a mistake later on. So hold and control your emotions. Panic selling is always losing. Not selling at 1K is way better than being out of the game at 100K+.

My heart sinks if I've just sold before the price goes up, if I'm still holding then I'm happy. I always regret not buying a load early on when they were really cheap but most of us probably feel that way. I'm involved this time so I'll be happy if it breaks the ATH again, I only regret not getting involved before the last ATH.

I began buying around 18 months ago so no - if the price rises my heart doesn't sink.
I started buying at around 600 USD so unfortunately I've only just about broken even (I've been buying all the way down trying to even out my investment).

I understand why you might be upset about the price going up if you haven't bought all the coins you want to. If you think about it though bitcoin could reach maybe even 100,000 USD per coin so you should still be buying now.

I'm fine with the price rising, despite the fact having just 0,32 BTC.

I think those who haven't bought yet didn't missed the boat, prices are still reasonably low (or, I THINK prices are on the low side). Though I can imagine if you 'operate' in the $220-300 range the current moment feels a bit late.

No, I don't have this feeling. I am OK with what I got, I won't say I am very happy since we are humans and we always want more. We are just greedy.

Also if this thing really makes it, even few bitcoins will be enough for anyone to make a small gain. Since I really believe that either this will be big or it will just dissappear.

Pick a dollar amount you can afford.  Pick a day of the week.  Buy that much once a week on the day you picked until you are comfortable with movement in any direction.  If you get to heavy and start to panic on drops, sell the dollar amount you chose once a week until you are again comfortable.

Everyone wants more, but you need to reach a level that's attainable and that you're comfortable with and put a halt to it there and then. Beyond that you're in danger of raping your future if it goes tits up.

Anyway the last couple of years have turned my heart into a blackened little walnut so nothing much happens to it these days.

Totally understand the feeling. Still have it even though I have an ok amount by now.

Still, I have a buying plan and every price rise before my wages get in make my plan more expensive, so yeah, kinda sucks if price rises this much, especially if it is a couple of days before my fiat gets in.

I think it is not time to feel that way, price is pretty acceptable to join the party right now because we may never see these prices in couple of years. So let's buy to not regret.

Hahaha, nah, quite the opposite. I like to see it going up but I do not like these big time pumps cause usually, there is a dump after it.

Perhaps because you had the chance to buy at lower prices a while back, but you didn't buy as much as you hoped, and that's giving you a bad feeling. You shouldn't worry about that, the most important is that you have coins and see them rise in value. If you plan to hold for the long term, you can still buy coins right now.

it was unusual in the same, way with the grexit drama, exactly the same way

then we returned back to the first point

i don't want to be pessimistic here, but you guys are falling again on the same trap, we need new investors to increase the price, the users base need to grow exponentially...

My heart sink when I see the price rise, mainly because I want to buy more coins and become an early adopter.

You are lucky you only make money as it goes up.  What about people who were in at 600-800 etc they need the price to move tons more before breaking even.

Just keep working on gaining more coins, if it goes up then great!
