Today China abrogated the unique child policy, and so now every couple is able to have two children. According to you, will it make the population growth increase ? Until now the curve was less and less high, but maybe it will make the straight climbin curve come back ?

Perhaps a little bit. It is still expensive to have children nowadays.

sure it will.  More kids is more kids.

We (us 'technocrats', greenies, and corporate shareholders) can have 'the best of all worlds' by having kids be expensive as hell and having 50% of them being to fucked up to themselves eventually reproduce.  They are thus 'sustainable kids.'  With enough vaccinations and GMO food it will be rather easy to have 50% of kids end up autistic, diabetic, LGBT, etc.

There is a downside however.  Back in the day, big families were desirable because of infant mortality (and additional social and economic factors.)  In the 'new world' people might be inclined to keep trying to have a relatively normal and healthy kid and that itself could result in larger families.  But as long as larger families are highly profitable the glass is at least half full.

Before Obamacare there was another stick in the gears.  One cannot get blood from a turnip.  By making more well off people pay the ridiculously overpriced medical expenses for anyone who is damaged by corp food/pharma/fda/cdc and etc, that little problem got ironed out.  Now the game is on!

China's youth population is no longer enough to support the whole of their labor force once the earlier generations retire. That gap is what's gonna slow their economy down. It's about time they remove that policy or at least, lighten it up.

The reason might be is that they are now the most populated areas in the world but are economically progressive . for me it help the lessen of there population. Its nice if other countries could be disciplined that way. Because population now adays is really a problem in some countries. Its for economical reasons.

i think that the reason about why they did it is because they are looking at his neighbor's, the India, they are growing up so faster, and they are scared about it, i mean that they want to continue with his "empire" in the world, so the way to do that is to reproduce faster, otherwise i can't understand why they did it.

The chinese people only give birth to one child ,if they need a second one ,just pay a fine.
But now,the new china child policy said if both family is the only child, they can have two, need not pay a fine.

Perhaps a little bit. It is still expensive to have children nowadays.

If you think as this, your civilisation will never progress. Look what's happening in my country actually (in Europe) : autochtonous people have not a lot of kids (no, even if 2,1 kids per women is the highest rate in Europe, that's really low !) but Muslims invaders have a lot. If people countinue to think like this, our race will extingish.

This will never work. The Chinese attitude towards having children is not that positive, especially in the urban areas. That is why they are having fertility rate of 0.80 children per woman in Hong Kong (for comparison, the same in Russia is 1.77 and in Germany it is 1.41). The Chinese are too much money-minded and they don't have ethnic groups such as the Amish (USA), Old Believers (Russia), and Laestadians (Finland) among whom large families are the norm.

A population doubling won't have much effect for the generation that will need it the most
It may however help them out in the long term to some extent if their economy improves and they decide to have children.
This generation though will see a strange sex industry born.

China has achieved a state where it can just scrap the compulsory family planning policy. Let the people decide how many children they can afford and manage.

China has achieved a state where it can just scrap the compulsory family planning policy. Let the people decide how many children they can afford and manage.

Their strategy was a very successful one, when compared with their neighbors (say India). In the 1960s, the Chinese standard of living was much worse than that in India. But when the population growth slowed, they were able to divert their resources to education and healthcare, thereby improving the living standards considerably. On the other hand, the Indian living standards declined, as the government never gave any importance to population control and family planning.

It won't really have huge impact because it is really expensive investment to have kids in countries like China.
I think they will keep making 1 baby in most families, but riches 2.
