The fact that the Spurs became the first team to beat the Thunder in these playoffs already suggests that the Western Conference Finals will be an exciting and highly competitive series. Let's see how the teams perform in Game 2, but I think this loss has really shaken the Thunder.

It will only be competitive if OKC can bounce back in Game 2 and beat the Spurs.

Game 1 was pretty close, either team could have won that one, but Wemby was just too good. He can dominate inside, then still punish you from outside with his 3-point shooting. That makes him very hard to defend.

So OKC is now facing a real team that can potentially beat them in this series. And remember, De’Aaron Fox was not even playing because of injury, yet the Spurs still managed to win on the road. That just shows how good this team is. If OKC does not adjust fast, this series could become more dangerous for them than many expected.

What a game between the Spurs and the Thunder. The Spurs almost lost in the first OT, but good thing Wemby nailed that deep three to tie the game. But in the second OT, the Spurs showed their defensive capability. A monstrous performance from Wemby in his first Conference Finals. An incredible performance as well from the rookie, Dylan Harper. They also limited SGA to single digit free throw attempts. Just like OKC, the Spurs are loaded with young talent too, the difference is they have Wemby.

Meanwhile, for the Thunder, Jdub is back, but Holmgren had a bad night. The gap between him and Wemby is getting bigger and bigger. He doesn’t look like the same player who was once competing with Wemby, and it doesn’t seem like that will change anytime soon as Wemby keeps becoming more dominant. But I still have to give credit to Caruso here. His threes kept the Thunder alive. Even though I’m rooting for the Spurs to win this series, I’d still like to see more of this matchup. You could even say this series might end up being better than the upcoming NBA Finals itself.

These teams did not really have many close games in their last rounds, so hopefully this time we will see something like what happened in Spurs vs OKC Game 1.

I saw the highlights on YouTube, and some comments were actually hilarious. One even said that the game saved the NBA. But if we think about it, maybe that is what fans really want to see, a close game between two very competitive teams.

The West already showed us real entertainment, so hopefully the East will not disappoint. Game 1 in the East should be better too, if possible.

Yeah, it was definitely one of the best playoff games in NBA history.    Wemby did a superb work about keeping his team in it for double OTs to win the game! Winning in Oklahoma is the best start they could have.

Now let's concentrate on tonight's game. Knicks are serious favourites for the Game 1 win in NY. If we see Brunson and KAT in good shape I believe Knicks will win this. Even without one of them being so they might do it anyway as Cavs are so unpredictable lately...

I have given up on Spurs after Pop had a stroke and retired from coaching. There was this feeling that after 20+ years of Pop coaching them to excellence, there will be a hard time replacing him, and it was this monumental big deal to fill his shoes. The sad thing is that we are talking about Spurs and most of the world do not even know who their coach is now.

I mean we know it's Mitch Johnson but because we are very interested in NBA, not because he is known all over the world like Pop did. But now I am looking at the team and thinking that they might be alright. Don't know if they will do anything decent this season, yes it was a good win but I am still not convinced, but this team is VERY young, so the possibility of them getting a ring if they can keep the core is huge.

He's a real alien. While the other teams that went through against the OKC, Spurs did it well.
That's why we see a shed of light on seeing the Spurs in the finals and I think that Wemby is so determined in doing that.

Kidd is a great coach, just don't have the right pieces when there are great pieces they got injured unfortunate for the team but good for him, because the organization owed him big money, and might get another position to other teams, Cavs crawling back in the game leading by 2 points, seems this game is evenly match, we could see another close game, some players are measuring each other, they are not pushing too much at the current state we could see this in the fourth quarter for sure, big man are making their presence felt in the finals on western and eastern they are being maximize.

Can’t blame them. Remove Wemby on Spurs, the team will be a regular team with young rookies that will be playing poor in the regular season and struggle to get in the playoffs.

They are capitalizing on Wemby presence and size that’s why it’s easy for them to create an open shot and has superiority on defense especially on blocks and rebound.

Any team with a decent foundation team can be a powerhouse team if you will put Wemby because he is putting effort on both ends.

What a bum Cavs that didn't play defense and haven't been that persistent to attack the basket in the last 5 minutes of the regular time. They only got 3 pts in the overtime, absolutely terrifying!

I wouldn't say that Wemby taught SGA a lesson. I know that regular games doesn't count in the playoff. But we can't deny that they have won 4-1 against the Thunder. It was that the Thunder will have to adjust but they didn't.

Or maybe they did, but still the Spurs have all the advantage because of Wemby and then hitting clutch after clutch shot including that 3 similar to what Steph did to the Thunder before. I haven't check the odds for game 2 yet, but for sure sports bettors might go with the Spurs again for a value bet if they become the underdog.

The Knicks just proved that never giving up can win games.

The Cavaliers had a 20-point lead with 7 minutes remaining in the game. The Knicks did a short 9-point run, but were having a hard time getting really close. Then suddenly, Jalen Brunson switched on his monster mode. They targeted James Harden to guard him, and he dominated him. He kept on going with the help of three pointers when he was doubled until they got close and took the game to overtime.

The Knicks won in overtime, and that's actually their first lead after the 2nd half.

It's a wild game. We just saw how rattled the Cavs can be when they are cornered. The Knicks fans helped a lot to shake them.

Déjà vu!
Yesterday's OKC-Spurs game ended 101-101 in regulation.
Tonight's New York-Cleveland game also ended 101-101 in regulation.
In fact, yesterday OKC finished the game with 115 points. Tonight, the home team New York also finished with 115 points.
The only difference is that Cleveland scored 104 points. New York won this game 115-104 and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

There are 2 historic events that happened after both Game 1's from both conferences.
1. That 22 point comeback by the Knicks is the largest comeback in the playoffs in franchise history.
2. It's the first time in NBA history that both Game 1's ended up in an Overtime.


Looking at that picture alone, I wonder how the Cavaliers got outscored 44-11 in the last 8 minutes of regulation and in the overtime. I mean correct me with this one, but this is the worst choke in NBA history that I've seen. This even surpasses the games where Coach Doc Rivers choked in some playoff games.

I already put a bet on the Knicks by halftime since they're only down by 2 points, but when I saw that they're down 18 with 8 minutes left on the game, I already stopped watching. I just saw that the Knicks made a comeback when I visited the website of ESPN and saw that the Knicks came back from a huge deficit and currently on overtime. That's when I watched it again, and man, Knicks fans are very wild and cheering loudly.

While we are talking about the Knicks for most of the time, I guess let's not forget that this is just Game 1, and I don't think that the Cavaliers' morale will get affected just by this choke by them. They'll come back in Game 2, and they know that in order for them to win in this series, they need to steal one game on the road.

Saw this as well, and I also have the same reaction as Chuck and the team. We're all shocked because nobody expected this to happen TBH. Now with Coach Jason Kidd out, I wonder who will be hiring as their next head coach. Taylor Jenkins just got hired by the Bucks, and I can't think of any coaches out there aside from Coach Michael Malone, and Coach Budenholzer.

That is so hilarious, I must say the handler is a huge fan of the San Antonio Spurs and also probably a huge fan of Wemby.

His been going through the game and have probably seen something spectacular from Wemby performance against the OKC.

We witnessed an amazing comeback from New York. I don't know if there's ever been a comeback like that at this level before.
With 7.40 minutes left in the game, Cleveland was leading by 22 points. With 19 seconds left, they were still leading by 2 points, but the game ended in a tie in regulation, and New York won 115-104 in overtime.

Also, I think Harden played more minutes than he should have.
42 minutes was too much for Harden. He scored 15 points but couldn't prevent the loss.
