2026 NBA Season

I'm following the playoffs, and it seems to me that the New York Knicks are playing better as a team.
I'm not saying this because they swept Cleveland, but they are a more complete team.
OKC wins when Shai and Caruso are good. The Spurs win when Wembenyama is good, but that's not the case with the Knicks.

My championship pick is the New York Knicks.

If Thunder will be the one to advance, then it will be a battle of team work, Knicks have Hart while Thunder have Caruso they are both good defender and bring something to the team yes when caruso play well Thunder wins or have a big chance of winning.
While the knicks rely mostly on teamwork and also explosion in scoring with bridges hart and the star brunson, they could match in the finals if thunder will end the series, but if the spurs can extend it to seven games, its 50/50 for them.

It's a even match, we will have Caruso or Dort trying to stop Jalen Brunson. And then they have Hart, Bridges and other guards to put a body on SGA. So that will be a good series. Not saying that Spurs are a bad matchup, but they are not a deep as the Thunder.

Although the Spurs have the NBA fans behind them because majority doesn't want a flopping team and others call the worst MVP because on how SGA goes and fish for a foul that even if his guard doesn't touch him, the refs are calling a foul.

How can you say they are the best team in the regular season? Are you not basing it on the standings after the season ended?

OKC had 64 wins and 18 losses, while the Spurs only finished 2nd with 62 wins and 20 losses. So you see, they were not the best team in the regular season based on the record. Maybe they have the hype, yes, but not the best record. Based on that data, OKC was still the better regular season team.

It's definitely about OKC just playing dirty on defense, and falling on offense all the time, there is no doubt about that. But you also have to accept that Spurs had a terrible shooting night. They shot 40% from the field, and less than 30% on the threes as well, that is quite bad and you can't expect to win games that way.

I mean let's put it this way, we complain that OKC gets fouls easily, and they do, but they had 38 free throws to Spurs having 32, so that's just 6 difference. And yet, only 5 points difference from the free throws, so we can safely say that when you think turnovers are quite similar as well, that is the only thing that we are dealing with, it's the shooting. If they shoot badly then there is nothing to do.

That is true. It's the shooting that became a problem for the Spurs in Game 5, but having a rough night is part of the game. It could be because of switching home courts or probably something along the way. Well, we cannot tell what may happen behind the scenes.
Still, I do think that every time the OKC Thunder wins, it's not clean. Even SGA thought that what Hartenstein is doing below the rim against Wemby is not good. He didn't say it directly, but I think that's what he meant from the post-game interview. It's dirty.
But all that is on Wemby. He should react and let the referee see it. That's how he will gain their attention and probably call the next dirty move.

I am with the Spurs later, and I really wish to see a Game 7.

sorry but i am not looking at the standings with a spreadsheet mentality missing the actual basketball played on the court. in my opinion, choosing the best team based solely on their win loss record is not the right approach.

Referees are doing them a really good favour during this series as well. Chet is treading on Wemby's foot and etc. but they just act like nothing happened.

This is just pushing me to support Spurs instead for the championship. I like Wemby's attitude towards Thunder players as well. Instead of shaking hands with them and so, he stands tall.

His competitive nature is what I really like... I hope they don't give up and carry the series to Game 7.

I didn't watch Game 5 but I watched all the other games. I also think the Spurs will have the advantage in Game 7 if they win tonight. At least they won't give up at home. Wemby has been incredible in these play-offs. Now it's Fox, Castle and Vassell's turn, they need to play up to their full potential.
They need to play solid defense. Thunder win games when they score over 120 points. Spurs need to force Thunder into bad shot selections and dominate the paint. I hope it would be a good game and we can also watch Game 7.

The league are favoring Thunder, even Adam silver praise the officiating of the refs in this series, are you also agree that the calls will be judge by AI and will have decision? if silver praise the refs is the series over for the spurs because on the way he say that as long as the refs are not trick on flopping its okay with him, are we going to witness game seven or its over, also SGA Attorney want to stop website showing sga flopping.

There might be a little bit of positive swing for the OKC Thunder tonight as their star forward, Jalen Williams is listed as available for the game although he’s going to be starting from the bench which is likely an indication that they don’t want to go heavily on him, OKC surely might some fresh options if they want to be able to pull this off without leaving it for a game 7 decider.

Yes, I’d agree with you that they don’t need to force him to play, but if he’s just about good to go, they might need just to catch some minutes of game time, if the series have to head for game 7, they’d not want who is supposed to be their second best player on the roster rusty, and with hamstring injuries you’ll probably never know where you’re at until you work it a bit.

OKC has the luxury of saving Jdub on the game 7 if necessary. Currently, Spurs is still performing very good on maintaining their lead against OKC.

Spurs defense is pretty solid now that Wemby is putting a lot of effort on this game. OKC is struggling to attack the paint due to Wemby pressure on defense.

I don’t want to jinx but I think they got this if they will be consistent until 4th quarter. Coach mitch does a good job on their defense adjustment.

What a drought for OKC. They missed 13 straight shots! If I’m coaching the Spurs I sit Wemby down for the night and maybe even some of the other starters. With a 26 point lead I think you risk giving your guys some extra rest before game 7.

Spurs completely tore Thunder apart in the 3rd quarter. If Fox hadn't started the game so bad, the gap probably would've been there by half time already. Just like I said before the game, Spurs forced Thunder into bad shots and got rewarded for it. We're going to Game 7.

Referees are awful though. I hope they don't make major mistakes that could affect the outcome in Game 7.
