There is a reach, and then there’s Wemby.

Wemby is going to be a very important player in the game 2 of the NBA finals, I believe what he can do, the same way he did a tremendous performances in the playoffs game with Oklahoma City Thunders.

I’m expecting a huge improvement and performance for the NBA Finals, just like what we have seen now that the NBA official twitter account are posting that tremendous hooping photo is just massive and The New York Knicks are going to learn a different thing entirely in the next game.

Brunson also did what was needed by taking the helm. However I don't expect Spurs to be the same in Game 2. They must fight harder than this.

It's needed for them to adjust to whatever lapses that happened to them last game 1, I guess Wemby should start to blow then expect everyone to bring the support, they have each other and once they start to blend together we  will expect a good game out from this young squad, it's the final and everyone should be all in, game 2 is important as Spurs should not give 2-0 lead as Knicks may upset them and bring home the title.

The Spurs have shown that they are capable of making adjustments and really playing that hard in order to stay in the series. And even if they've lost game 1, the coaching staff have seen what needs to be done and so I do agree that they are going to double their effort.

I'm seeing a healthy Wemby to score at least 30 points and grab more rebounds and block shots in game 2. They are going to defend Brunson very well as they've seen what Brunson is capable and draw a play and make him uncomfortable so that he won't have that easy shots just like in game 1.

Wemby was not really limited, he still had good production in that game, so what if we also talk about the Knicks now since they are already ahead.

Instead of saying the only way the Knicks can beat the Spurs is to limit Wemby, maybe we should say the only way the Spurs can beat the Knicks is to limit Brunson. This little guy is so clutch, and they need to be consistent on defending him because when he gets hot, the confidence of the whole team becomes very high.

Also, the Spurs need to be more physical and grab every rebound, because it is not acceptable that Hart got 15 rebounds in that game. That guy is not even that tall, just 6’5 I guess, so the Spurs really need to do better on the boards.

If they can outplay Wemby and make him out of focus towards hard defense they do, this is provably the key for Knicks to succeed in finals. They have KAT and also Robinson to do that job also we've seen them so effective on game one.

So eventhough Knicks already win on game 1 still Spurs is well composed team. For sure they are eager to bounce back on game two, so best do to everything, since if Spurs win on game two maybe similar situation on OKC might gonna happen with Knicks.

If they will bounce back, it should be in Game 2 because it is hard to win the series when a team is already down 0-2, and I think the stats itself would not favor the Spurs if that happens. So tomorrow, let us expect that they will be able to even the series. Just like in Game 1, they started strong, but this time they need to make sure they keep that intensity until the game is over.

But this is a different opponent, you have to remember that the Knicks are on a winning streak, and even in the Finals they want to continue that.

So what I am really seeing is that if the Spurs cannot hold on in Game 2, the series could be over easily because it will be a different atmosphere in New York.
What they should do is make a statement, have a big win in a dominant fashion so they can have high confidence going to New York for Game 3.

They both can have a run of their own, but since the knicks are so use to sweeping teams during this run, they are the one getting pressure because they win only four games, so if the series will extend to 6 games in this series they might not be in the familiar position, if they make a 2-0 lead that's when the spurs are to be worried because they will be the one who is in pressure to even the series, but it will be very hard for the knicks because with it comes to height and speed the spurs are ahead in that category and they might expose those advantage.

It is not always like that, if height is their advantage then they would have already dominated the Knicks in Game 1, but that is not what happened.

They showed their inexperience while the Knicks remained composed and were able to come back from a big deficit. I understand that people are hyped with the young Spurs because they are really talented, but when it comes to experience, I think that is where the Knicks have the edge.

There's a lot of people here who think the Spurs will bounce back and even up the series.
Spurs line has moved to -6.5 which is essentially a very comfortable win; I think they get it done but not sure of the point spread.

I'm also among the people believing in Spurs to come back from this. It's only 1-0, not the end of the world!    Besides we have all seen how they fought back against Thunder previously.

However... Spurs need to find a solution to Knicks' strong defending. KAT, Anunoby and Hart all did their job very well and kept them under 100 points.

The really important fact about the match against San Antonio Spurs was that they were 13 points behind and then still won it. I doubt that anyone thought there is a comeback in the making for the Knicks. Wembanyama was doing, contributing 26 points is enough to have his team win the match when they are all on the same good level, but they weren't. 2 out of 9 3pts throws was not the best by Wenbanyama, but Brunson had the same statistics and the difference was that Brunson was far more active on the pitch. I think he won the Knicks the match with his energy and his drive to not give up.

It's unlikely that San Antonio Spurs would win the match when they play at home and score less than 100 points. The Knicks would have to be so bad and considering how great their form is now, scoring less than 100 points is not to be expected as the last time they scored less than 100 points was in middle of April and since then they scored more than 100 in 16 subsequent matches.

Spurs did not look like they were outplayed, but they did definitely look like they were super tired. Unlucky game really. I have seen a different Spurs when they were playing against OKC, they had a situation where they played as hard as they could. But that seven game series, where they put all their 100% caused them to be tired, and that fatigue was showing on the first game.

I do hope that they get better, because this is going to just take longer and not ending anytime soon. So Spurs needs to find a way to fix their fatigue problems.

Agree. Wemby made his team the favorite to win the championship. opposing players are terrified of getting blocked so they can't even get close to the rim. He brings the ball up from his own court to run the play, shoots from everywhere and his speed keeps him from being beaten even by the most athletic guards.

Being tired is normal after a series that lasted 7 games. However I wouldn't expect something different than that in such tough series. They eliminated the biggest championship favourite in the end.

That's gonna be hard for them.

IIRC, they're one of the teams that has the most expense for their roster and after this fall they got for this season.

I don't think that's encouraging anymore to keep with the roster they have and they seriously need a pay check cut for some of them who's got overly paid.
