1. They fell in love with three point shot that they only shot 3-17 for the whole 2nd half.
Of course they will stick with it because that was the reason why they were up big in the first half. A 29-point lead is already huge. The problem was not really because they fell in love with outside shooting, it was more because of their defense. 2. Fox made the most crucial mistake in the game. That's one, but its probably due to pressure. And anyone can make mistakes, just like Wemby made a costly TO in game 2. 3. Nobody stepped in offense, and even Wemby played awfully in the 2nd half.
I think its wrong to not put Harper in the last minutes.

Speaking of OG, I already voted him as the Finals MVP, and if you will ask me, he deserves it because he stepped up massively in this finals and he's also the 2nd leading scorer behind Brunson, but what makes him better is how he defends especially when he defends Wemby. I think with that loss by the Spurs, it's pretty obvious now that the Knicks will win the title after 5 decades of drought. I'm curious though on what will be the Knicks' fans are doing when they win the title.
Could be a case like when Iggy won the finals MVP and not Steph Curry as most of us could have expected. As for the Spurs, there are many reasons as to why they lose the game. All of the bad things that could happen to a team, happened to them. 1. They fell in love with three point shot that they only shot 3-17 for the whole 2nd half. 2. Fox made the most crucial mistake in the game. 3. Nobody stepped in offense, and even Wemby played awfully in the 2nd half. I don't expect them to coming back after being down 3-1 as well especially with how inexperienced they are, but who knows. They might be doing another history yet again. Fox, yeah, we have heard his name time and time again not just in this series, but in the Thunder as well that he was a no show. Although when they won, he have that crucial jump shot. But not in this game, and when Wemby doesn't have a good game specially in the stretch, their chance to win is not there. As compare to the Knicks wherein they have a lot of offensive weapon and not just Brunson.

a team that’s coming from behind is always dangerous. the spurs had built such a big lead that they could have won the game even if they’d spent one of the last two quarters just passing the ball around and running out the clock. but as the knicks closed the gap, you could sense they were panicking more and more. despite scoring almost every time they shot in the first half, we didn’t see anything like that in the second half, and wemby’s two missed free throws in the final minute sealed their fate. i’m amazed they couldn’t win despite having so many chances.
de’aaron fox’s two decisions at the end were also ridiculous. he drove to the basket, got blocked, and then committed an unnecessary foul. with every player on the team making small mistakes, the knicks pulled off an incredible comeback. they fully deserved to win the finals.

Im seing a picture that OG hit the arm not the ball how true is this, but the spurs should been the one up 3-1 in the series if they did not choke in the last few minutes of the fourth quarter, the only one to blame is the inexperience, also you are right they seems to be panicking even with a large lead also, im confuse why are they taking three's all the time, while the knicks is chipping the lead and the coach never reminded them that they have the height advantage, I really thought they are going to walk in the knicks, it seems the knicks are the one walking on them.

Yes, they could have been up in the series, but they have wasted those games that winnable for them because of the costly errors they made. Like in the last game wherein the outside 3's are no long working in the second half and yet they still try to force the situation. And probably we might also put some fingers on the coach as he wasn't able to provide a new game plan if the outside shooting is not working for them. And was what majority have saying that probably it's their inexperience that bring their downfall in the finals.

Spurs indeed showed their potential in the first half of Game 4. However their poor performance in the later part caused them to get an unbelievable kind of defeat... Let's say they won Game 5 this time. They will still need 2 more wins without a loss. That's a really difficult target to achieve honestly. Is there even any other example than Cavaliers with LeBron who have done that?

To bad for spurs if you search that keyword their team came out and this is really a big shame on their team. People don't care about OG hit the arm, since since what people looking at is those huge mistake and instability happen on Spurs. Knicks deserve to win a championship this season and many NBA fans agree on that after they see what happen on game 4.

no, the only example is the cavaliers’ comeback from a 3-1 deficit to a 4-3 victory in the 2016 finals. other than that, a 3-1 lead has happened dozens of times, and the team leading 3-1 has always won. also, in my opinion, the spurs aren’t the kind of team that can pull this off. the cavaliers had lebron but the spurs’ standout player wemby is someone who picks fights and has mental health issues i think. some might call him the new bron but winning the remaining three games and becoming champions seems almost impossible.

Its true that the cavaliers is the team who come back from that 3-1 lead in the finals, but i have to disagree regarding the mental health issue, sometimes we should look at what the other players have done to the other players before say something about it, but as a player even though we are being hurt by others we should not retaliate back, but it seems that this things can be contain only if the refs are in control about the situations and call right not because of their emotion, i still think that there is a chance but the percentage is too low, and for the spurs they could comeback if they can control their emotions in the game.

It is not the refs. The Spurs just could not handle the Knicks’ momentum properly. They were up huge, but they still kept shooting. If that was SGA, he would probably just look to draw fouls and get himself to the line. The Spurs are good and young, but experience-wise, that is really their big disadvantage. I do not want to say they do not have a chance because of course they can still turn this thing around, but they need to take it one step at a time and start with the next game. If the Knicks are going to win the NBA Finals, it would be better to do it at home, so Spurs in Game 5.

Makes sense. That means the right thing to do if betting on Game 5 is to take the Spurs -5.5 line. And to be safe, since the Spurs are good in the first half, might as well bet on the first half only to avoid them losing focus in the second half and losing the bet. It depends on how you see it, but for me, I believe the first half is the safer option.

Sliver of hope for Spurs fans is that famous 2016 finals. The 73-9 best season ever in history Warriors, ended up losing to Lebron. So Spurs fans are still hanging on by a thread and hope that MAYBE this could be possible again if they turn things around. But unfortunately that doesn't look like it will be a possibility, more likely outcome would be Knicks winning the next game at San Antonio and end up getting the title at an away game.
I think it would be more, way more, fun if they lose the next game, make it 3-2 and then go back to New York and win there, because lifting it at home, in Mecca, surrounded by New Yorkers, would be a lot more fun for them without a doubt. Not like lose knowingly next game just to make that happen of course, they need to be careful, but if that were to happen, that would be so nice.

I've just checked out the odds for Finals MVP. Now Brunson is @1.90 while OG is @3.00. I'm considering making a bet on both of these guys just for fun. Probably Brunson would be selected but who knows... Maybe OG could be given it if he plays big in Game 5 also. As for the Spurs, there are many reasons as to why they lose the game. Really bad choices by Spurs indeed... I didn't also understand Fox there. He wanted to shine there by scoring that one but he also had a role in this loss. He could have just played for time and get 2 FTs.

Not that New York has a ton of experience either, but they have plenty more when compared to San Antonio. All the mistakes the Spurs are making seem like they're due to youth and nerves. They should be up 3-1 in this series right now. 2 plays are going to end up being the difference in this series and it is going to eat away at the Spurs all offseason. Unless they completely screw up free agency or Wemby gets injured, I see them as the champions next season.

a team that’s coming from behind is always dangerous. the spurs had built such a big lead that they could have won the game even if they’d spent one of the last two quarters just passing the ball around and running out the clock. but as the knicks closed the gap, you could sense they were panicking more and more. despite scoring almost every time they shot in the first half, we didn’t see anything like that in the second half, and wemby’s two missed free throws in the final minute sealed their fate. i’m amazed they couldn’t win despite having so many chances.
de’aaron fox’s two decisions at the end were also ridiculous. he drove to the basket, got blocked, and then committed an unnecessary foul. with every player on the team making small mistakes, the knicks pulled off an incredible comeback. they fully deserved to win the finals.
There was a huge difference between the first and second halves of the game. Especially what happened in the last quarter was incredible, it was very difficult to predict that the game would end like that. We may have watched one of the best finals in recent years. A block, a buzzer beater, a great comeback. It was truly amazing to watch all of that. The New York Knics really deserved the championship. My respect for them has increased a lot after the last game

I also find the chance of OG Anunoby to be finals MVP realistic. He played all the games really well so far. Especially in the last game... I'm out of words to explain that.
Of course just because there is only one example it doesn't means Spurs can't come back from it. I expect them to win the next one. But it's still very difficult man. They need to win 3 games in a row!

I was just watching Wemby's interview with the media... He was asked about if he thought about becoming the second team to ever come back from down 3-1 and he responded, "Everybody knows we're gonna do it."
A lot of confidence for a guy who is down 3-1 in the finals, but I think they are the better team and could easily be up 3-1 without 2 bad decisions. I think Wemby might be wrong here, but I'm glad he has confidence. It shows we aren't going to see a "yips" situation like Nick Anderson...

Point system, it's going to be Jalen but we don't know if they're going to count all of those clutch moments and whoever decides for that might also be the community through voting. Let's see but no doubt that OG became a good candidate for that. And as for Spurs winning the next one is very likely but, I know right that it's going to be hard for them to win the series at this point with that standing. So that game 4 was a good decider game.

I don't know if anyone was paying attention but if you weren't, how many turnovers in the last 7 or so minutes did De'Aaron Fox have? Were all 4 of his turnovers late? Looked like the guy was trying to lose the game for whatever reason. I would take a look at the bookies and see who had a massive 7-10 figure cashout last night as it looked a bit funny IMO.
I agree on that with you completely!! Fox really didn't look like his mind was on the game. If it was then for example he wouldn't make such a huge mistake in the critical moments of the game. There were like 10-15 seconds left for the end. They were still ahead and he got the ball in a great place. Just run around there and wait for your opponent to foul you. But no, he just wanted to go selfish and tried to finish it.

Wemby is being heavily criticized but even in his current state i think he is already one of the greatest defenders in NBA history. if he stays healthy, he has the potential to be the most dominant player of the next 10 years.
