Yes, Wemby also had some faults in some critical moments. But I wouldn't put it to him completely to be honest. Spurs had something missing as a team.

You have all seen how many times they got a really solid lead during the games. Game 4 was the craziest about it. Grin And Spurs threw away all of those potential wins just like that.

That’s why I hate how a lot of media and pundits are making a scapegoat out of D’Aaron Fox, they were willing to crucify him over 2 points play when collectively as a team they blew what was 29 points lead, If we’re to start micro analyzing their entire series collapse, there would have been a bigger portion of the blame on Wemby, and Stephon Castle more than it would have been on Fox, we all saw what happened in Game 1 and Game 2, and almost happened all over again in game 3… They failed as unit, and that’s the best way to go about it, they’re young and the talent is there, they should just use the loss as a learning curve.

I guess they will have to point to someone and blame him, and this time it was Fox, very unfortunate to him. But nevertheless, we have seen him making some good plays against the Thunder but it was overshadowed by this costly mistakes.

While it's hard to point the finger to Wemby as he is the franchise player of the Spurs. But if you look at it, if they can just hold on that lead and not committing those errors and not relying from the outside, the series might be very close.

Something seems to be going on behind the scenes with Fox. I saw he unfollowed the Spurs social media account. Players usually only do that when they’re ready to move on. Odd to see it so soon after playing for a championship. We might see a very different Spurs team next season.

It's interesting that Fox unfollowed the Spurs' account shortly after the game. This means Fox will be leaving the team. Fox wasn't good at all in the last game either. In fact, in the 3rd or 4th game, his attempt to drive to the basket while in possession, getting blocked, and then committing a foul contributed to the loss. Perhaps there was chaos in the Spurs' locker room after that game. He probably didn't do it intentionally, but if Fox hadn't made that mistake and played more minutes, the Spurs could still be contenders for the championship.

He unfollow the team that trusted and paid him, wow thats something, did he gamble this NBA finals? he might be investigated because of his performance in the NBA finals, the team really might hate him because of what he did to them in the finals, i hear or read someone he might be gambling, or he really not feeling well, but he could have pass to someone being the point guard if he really don't feel to be in the position to play, heard that vassel and Harper mad at him i'll be also mad at him with that game play.

Oh really? I didn't know about that. Then I agree he must be leaving soon... Fox got a lot of criticism on his performance in the final series. There are different thoughts on this of course like it's not fair at the same time.

He absolutely had a role in this loss. However he shouldn't be the only person to be blamed of course. They lost as a team despite having some good advantages. They all deserve to be criticized.

Didn't notice this news until I read it in this thread.

But I think Fox knows that Spurs will going to trade him, that's why he do that. Since its crazy if Fox did that even if Spurs give him the time that what he usually wants. But it turns bad for his side, since he didn't manage to hit the expectation and he made lots of errors on finals.

For sure he didn't do that intentionally, since there's nothing to gain for those mistakes he made. He might lose everything and many team might doubt to get him after on that performance he shown in that series.

A common thing when a team lose the game especially that it was the finals, they'll be aiming to point finger to someone for now, it's more on Fox after committing those mistakes that cause them to lose the game, but similar to what you've said everyone have their own contributions and with the loss they need to carry it as a team, though we don't know what will be the decision inside by the management if they will keep this young squad together or someone will be let go and take a good replacement to fill the space.

I think the players and coach has defended Fox most of the finals it has just come to the game 5, where he is not still delivering instead making lots of mistake, i have read or heard that harper is frustrated on fox performance and that he thought he should be the one ti start and finish the game, which is the right decision from that moment on, but since mitch thinks that fox should have better experience than harper, fox should have deliver, even Wemby defended him but i think in the end he got tired of fox vassel also frustrated, Even Julian who has been waive by the sixers perform way above fox.

Giannis wanting to play with the Heat. This is big news and I think Heat's roster is also young so, we're getting the idea of what's the new meta now with the roster in the NBA. Will this happen?

It sounds really interesting. A fresh start it would be for Giannis there. Heat roster is promising with their youngsters but they don't have a big star in the team.

Giannis would fill that space nicely in my opinion.  Smiley  No matter what Giannis should leave Bucks at this point.

I don't know if he can be champion with Heat in the future but his chances would be higher than now I assume.
Wherever Giannis will go, I guess that the fans will follow him and he's still one of the stars in the league that any team would like to have. Although the value will definitely be hurting for some teams and that's why only those teams who truly like to get him will take that offer. He's given that clue of where he wants to go and let's wait on how the Miami Heat will adjust for that desire of his or if there will be negotiations for both Heat and Bucks.

Time for the Heat to get another championship, it is really possible as long as Giannis is there, and also they should not trade Bam Adebayo because he can be a good center beside him. Both Giannis and Bam will be a threat inside, so they will not be pressured to always pass the ball outside since those two can dominate in the paint, I love this news and it seems Giannis also likes the coaching of Coach Spo.

Don't worry about it, they will not trade Bam for Giannis, these are the possible players that will be traded for Giannis.

According to a report from The Athletic last week, Miami is still viewed as the frontrunner. The Heat’s current package, according to The Athletic, would likely feature Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakucionis, and draft assets, including up to three first-round picks. Miami has a late-lottery pick in next week’s draft at No. 13.

So if that pushes through, Tyler Herro will say goodbye to the Heat, and I know that is a lot of players in exchange, but the Heat have to gamble on this if they want to turn the team into a championship team.

As much as we know how strong and good Giannis is, we see how the NBA is changing and it's giving the nerve to every team to become at their best. It doesn't matter anymore with superstars line up, young roster and any advantage that they can do. But this adds a better chance for whichever team that's going to get him. Bam and Giannis inside is imaginable how athletic they are and strong inside and outside the paint.

This had to have been the greatest comeback in all of NBA finals. Many are left speechless but the Knicks fans have much to cheer for after the game.
That was confirmed. I just did some research and that was the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history. Prior to that, the Knicks also made history for the most 3-point shots in the playoffs iirc, when they beat the Sixers in their last game and swept the series.

So with the Knicks winning this, they have already achieved a lot this season. Next season, Brunson should be an All-Star starter. Maybe some of the young Spurs as well, especially Harper. Imagine if he becomes a starter.

Brunson had over 42 points in that last game of the finals probably more when they flashed his total while at the line shooting free throws. Since usually the winning team has the player getting the MVP award. I wouldn't doubt he got it just for that performance alone.
Without him I don't think they would of achieved those accolades during the playoffs especially having that astounding 13 straight game winning streak.

My only concern with the Giannis and Bam pairing is who are they going to get to play alongside them? They’re going to gut the roster to trade for Giannis and neither of them are young enough to have time to build around. Pat Riley will have his hands full with this one for sure.

Bam and Giannis inside is imaginable how athletic they are and strong inside and outside the paint.
No question about that, my only worry is the chemistry of the team since Giannis will be the new leader, I hope Bam will accept his role if that will be the setup.

Giannis wanting to go to the Heat would make them a threat again because the last time they were a real threat was when LeBron played with them and they even won 2 championships, after that the team became ordinary.

And it is just a waste of time because they have a good coach, in fact they even went to the Finals with just a mediocre team, no real big superstar, only Butler, but sadly their Finals runs were not that great.

If Fox will leave the team, then the Spurs will also have to fire the coach for letting Fox play in the crucial minutes of the game when his contribution was awful.

They wasted the talent of the Spurs, with the right coach I am sure the outcome would be better, no guaranteed Spurs win but at least not a 4-1 score.

Fox came from an injury so he has not regained his full skills yet, he needs more time, so the coach should have recognized that and avoided giving him more minutes, remember they were so dominant against OKC when Fox was out, so they should have stayed that way.

Yeah, that's gonna be tough. There will be some assets from the Miami to let go just for Giannis. But if this happens, I hope that they won't let go of some of the rookies that has got the potential like JJJ. Most likely it's going to be Herro that will be used for that trade.

Bam and Giannis inside is imaginable how athletic they are and strong inside and outside the paint.

Well, it will depend on them. For as long as they're going to like to get a chip, I guess that they can all work for that leadership and other stuff.

I just read that Knicks fans are making custom Knicks Finals jerseys for De’Aaron Fox in appreciation of him blowing a game winning play. That is savage and maybe a little too far in my opinion. I think Fox is going to have some issues after this and it may even be detrimental to his career.

I am not always considering the injuries when it comes to changing the roster, but I think Fox is the core of that Finals game since he is the one who can score when the young guns are having trouble making an offensive run.

In this thread, I think I have commented way too much about how Fox has become the center of the stage whenever they need an offensive man. He is resilient, he can score if needed, and even in crucial moments, he tends to be calm. Fox will be like the Ginobili of the team, and keeping him will be the best thing they can do.
There's actually no change needed for the Spurs. They just need that experience and they have it now.

I'm starting to like the idea of the Miami Heat and Giannis. If you watch Giannis in a Heat uniform next season, they could become a very strong team in the playoffs. After all, the Miami Heat are already a strong team; they finished well in their conference and could be contenders for the championship next season.
Of course, if the team's stars leave, Giannis alone can't do anything. If they also get a new point guard, the team could become truly amazing

Every time some team loses, of course someone will be blamed, and the sad thing is, Fox will carry that burden all his life until they win, if they win and he is on the squad and played well then he would be fine.

But I would put the biggest blame on Wemby, while it is his second season only and he already reached finals, so kudos to him, if he wants to be the superstar of that team, he needs to be better. I am not expecting him to be better right away on their second season, but that dude is unicorn and if they win, it should be thanks to him.

What's Lebron going to do now by the way? Is he leaving Lakers for certain or preparing to sign another contract extension? The last time I read about him, he was leaving.  Tongue

Another thing I've heard is the possibility of joining Warriors. That sounds interesting. I don't think they'd be able to become champions then though. But I'd love to watch them anyway.
