Yeah, it's going to be very difficult decision for the Sixers, but I highly doubt that they are going to trade Embiid just to take Lebron. So for me he won't go to Sixers no matter what, it will be Cavs, Heat or the Warriors with Steph Curry.

I think the Sixers will be a solid them either way. They have Jaylen Brown now, still in his prime and partner him with Joel Embiid and Maxey, that's already some form of Big 3 already. If might be just a problem on who is coming from the bench.

i don't think he's going to the Heat and i don't think he and Giannis would make a good duo. while going to the Cavs fits his personal narrative, it doesn't make sense competitively.
as you told realistically, the Sixers seem like the most logical choice but that doesn't fit the farewell story he wants to build either. we'll wait and see.

I can’t believe he didn’t make the announcement today. With even the NBA getting on him about delaying the schedule I figured he would for sure get it behind him today. Makes me wonder if he’s doing it for attention or plotting some massive trades behind the scenes to put together a great roster with his buddies.

Anything is possible as of now and the Heat had a chance of landing Lebron to Miami. There might also a possibility that he will go to Golden State as it is not so far from home and Draymond Green has done a good thing on talking to him to go to the Warriors. Behind the scene, Lebron might be talking to Anthony Davis to go with him to the Warriors, that's maybe the reason why the delay of this decision.

Yes, everything is possible, those teams that are being mentioned are the potential destination of Lebron. And if you look at it there is still a good chance that Lebron can win one more ring with those teams.

Cavs has a lot of good players, Warriors has Steph and Draymond did have a paycut and then pitch to him that it's better for Lebron to play with them. And then his previous team of Miami who also has Bam and Giannis.

So everything goes, but right now it's all speculation until someone breaks the news as to where he will go.

but i really dont understand.
when it comes to titles for Lebron, he’s a 22 time all star, with Olympic golds, championship rings, All NBAs and MVPs galore.
i won't even get into the money as he's the first active billionaire player in NBA history.
as for fame, he’s one of the top three most famous names in his profession, maybe even the top one.
and yet he’s still petty and insatiable.

That's right. It's really up to the sixers management if they will choose to protect their current structure or they will take this chance to bring Lebron that can bring a huge business value and attract attention for the franchise.

On the other hand, Embiid's injury is one thing they should consider. The possibility is stil always there, but at the same time, it is still a huge decision to make as he is still an MVP player. As for Lebron, this is something interesting especially there hasn't been any official announcement yet. If he really has that kind of specific condition, then the sixers management have to decide.

And also, it's considerable since Lakers need a big man who can really be a threat inside with Luka and Austin who both can attract the defense Embiid might be a good fit for them, though everything will continue to be a rumor and speculation since LeBron's camp still don't have any update with what will be the final decision, for sure every franchise who's trying to bring him to the team see big opportunities for the business, they will do everything that they can grasp to the extend to sacrifice even their valuable asset/s just to get him to wear their uniform.

He reminds people of the chemistry between LeBron and Wade. He says a similar one could happen between LeBron and Giannis as well. But they aren't in their prime unfortunately...

Still seeing LeBron choose Miami would be nice to me though. He had amazing years there.

I tried to look at the stats of Giannis last season.

Quote
27.6 PPG , 5.4 APG, 33.3 3P% , 62.4 FG%

Source: Giannis
Antetokounmpo Stats

We can see that he is eventually a decent passer.

LBJ is also known to be a good passer to. So looking their stats on papers they can possibly a good team mates if they could manage to build a good chemistry. Its just both stars need to adjust and try to work well together.

So well let's see what's the final verdict of Lebron on which team he will sign for this year. Since somehow for sure people would still love if Lebron would choose to sign either one Miami, Sixers, Cavs or even on GSW.

I don't think this is all about media attention, because even though he's been silent for a few weeks thoroughly assessing on where he would like to play next season, he's still gaining attention, even with the World Cup ongoing.
Have we ever thought that he might come back for the Lakers? I mean, maybe he just waiting for them to fill the roster and see if they can actually have a good shot at the champion next year. He was hinting that he doesn't need huge contracts at this point of his career, he's more concerned with adding more champions to his career record while having fun.
The Lakers just signed Thybulle most recently. A player who's an excellent perimeter defender.
Well, the chances for this theory to happen is slim, but I won't rule out the possibility until he hasn't made any decisions.

Well, anybody can share their own opinion right now. That though has more impact because it's his former player and a former member of the "Big 3".

TBH, I like him be on the Heat, but the big question right now is, "If he goes there, will they become a title contender?", and even Giannis is on the team, it's still hard to answer that question. Let's not forget that Giannis has been injury-prone in these last few years, and looking at the roster, Giannis being out for a several amount of games makes them just a mediocre team or worse, they're not even a play-in contender. Sorry for the term, but that's how I see the Heat right now without Giannis. Will Lebron solve that? I don't think so. He can't carry anymore, and right now, he's more of a 2nd or 3rd option anymore.

I agree that Lebron had some nice years there, but in my opinion, if he wants to win a title in his POSSIBLY final year, he needs to go to a title contender teams. Cleveland for me is the best for him since he don't want to go to Philly until they trade Embiid which the front office will not do.

Well if he is concern with Embiid he should forget philly as his destination, or if philly is doing the trade just for LeBron, that's a very strong move by the team just to land a 41 year old, so that makes the heat his only choice for a ring chase, cleveland is not a contender team unless this year is his retirement tour then cleveland is the choice, this has been a month of speculations and lebron is the one doing this to the league, schedules are delay because they are waiting for lebron

I thought earlier that LeBron going to the Sixers was already possible, but apparently, it wasn’t true. I didn’t pay much attention to the post when I first saw it. It just appeared on my feed, and I didn’t bother checking it, so I thought it was real. After reading this thread, I realized that he hadn’t actually been traded.

If I had to choose, I would rather see LeBron James return to the Cavaliers. Dwyane Wade already represents the Miami Heat, and that’s where he built his legacy. For me, LeBron’s legacy belongs more with the Cavaliers. What do you think?

Of course, it would be great to see LeBron return to the Cavaliers. He already won a championship with that team, so who knows? Maybe he could help them win another one.

The fans would probably be happy to welcome him back because the Cavaliers were never the same without LeBron. Even though he lost several times in the Finals, he consistently led them there during his younger years. The Cavaliers were truly dominant when he was with them.

I think many Cavaliers fans would still believe in him and would love to see LeBron wearing their jersey again.

Of course they want to see him again in the Cavaliers uniform he is the player who fulfill the promise to bring home the championship to Cleveland, but i highly doubt if they can make it to the finals, it will be his final year and a retirement tour if he comes back.
With all this drama going on with LeBron could we surprise if he signs to a team that is not on the list?
GSW warriors are now quite and is just giving hints but without James saying he is going to a team, the frenzy is still on and we are going to wait until he announces where he is heading.

It would be shocking if he went to a team that isn’t on the list. I think it would be shocking if he went anywhere other than Golden State or Cleveland. I’m sort of expecting it though. There is a lot pointing to Philadelphia, which I wouldn’t have even thought was a possibility before it was mentioned. I just hope he announces his decision today. This has been going on too long now.

For the past few days, we’ve been speculating about where LeBron might end up, and it has made this thread lively. Normally, things would be a little quiet now that the NBA season is over and we’re just waiting for the next one to begin in a few months. LeBron is really good at selling himself and creating hype. With that in mind, it makes sense that he could choose another popular team. The Warriors and Cavaliers are both possible destinations, but for me, the Cavaliers make more sense.

I saw a X's post notification that appeared on my device lock screen from what appeared to be a Shams Charania update stating that Lebron James have signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, and with everything in me, I believe for a minute before opening the said post to discover that it was from a Parody account, looking at the number of comments and views the post have gathered from an account with just 800 followers, I'm pretty sure it didn't appear on my lock screen alone and X's algorithm is probably to be blamed for making this one go viral.

he literally waited for the World Cup to end just to announce his next team, all so he wouldn't get overshadowed by the tournament...
but i really dont understand.
when it comes to titles for Lebron, he’s a 22 time all star, with Olympic golds, championship rings, All NBAs and MVPs galore.
i won't even get into the money as he's the first active billionaire player in NBA history.
as for fame, he’s one of the top three most famous names in his profession, maybe even the top one.
and yet he’s still petty and insatiable.

Well, the chances for this theory to happen is slim, but I won't rule out the possibility until he hasn't made any decisions.

btw he had news leaked about playing for the veteran minimum to get one last championship. that minimum contract story is total BS imo.
He'll sign for the minimum, have his final season filmed as a documentary and make up the difference plus probably a whole lot more right there  Smiley

When I saw the first part of your post I rushed to check out Shams Charania's account for that tweet. But I should have read it fully...  Grin

LeBron James still doesn't make any announcement. The World Cup has also ended so all the attention could be on him now in fact. When will he make the statement?

Seeing him winning one last championship would be nice. But will he sign for a team with such potential though?

Funny… I did see discussion yesterday where people were wondering if it would be LeBron James himself who breaks the news, or if it would be Shams. I think it’ll be hard to keep Shams from finding out first, but if anybody can be the guy who breaks his own news, it’s LeBron. He’s done it before.
