Rumors are starting that Steph Curry isn’t happy that the Warriors wouldn’t get Anthony Davis in order to sign LeBron James. We might see a Steph trade at some point in the next year. He becomes a free agent after the season and I don’t see him re-signing with a losing franchise so they can trade him this year or lose him for nothing.

One fact about the 76ers, they have three MVPs.

1. Lebron James
2. Jaylen Brown
3. Joel Embiid

Who's thinking that there could be an ego issue with these three? I'm expecting Lebron to lead this team while the other two mvps to provide support to his leadership.

Hmmm. Good points. I think I have never seen these three or even just two of them in TV shows or interviews. I mean, I have seen LeBron doing pranks with Draymond Green and Anthony Davis, but with JB or Embiid, I have not.
Also, that rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers went deep enough that I think Embiid or JB may have also clashed with some bad-mouthing. They should really fix that beef before the season starts. Perhaps LeBron will be the mediator between the two.
Well, who knows? It might work. They are professionals.

lebron is a true legend. while everyone expected him to sign another big contract with one of his former teams, he’s joining the 76ers for a brand-new challenge on the lowest contract of his career. even though his salary has increased every season for years, he’ll now earn just $8 million over two years.

last season, the 76ers were eliminated by the champion knicks. let’s see what they’ll do next season.
That was the most surprising part for me man, definitely! He really accepted such a low contract. It's like a minimum contract or so I guess. People were talking about him like he didn't continue at Lakers because of not being offered a max contract...

But it turns out this wasn't the case. I think he did really good by signing a deal with 76ers. The roster and starting five both will be really decent. I think it's even good enough to win their conference next season. But another ring for LeBron? That's not easy surely.
Absolutely nobody saw this coming. Out of all the teams that were tracking on prediction markets I think the 76ers had to be sixth or seventh for him to sign up with.
When I first heard this I thought it was speculation and false news. But it was announced on X by a reporter who usually does these breaking player trades and are credible in their reporting. So then I knew it had to be true.
So that makes the 76ers a top contender of taking the east next season with having these five players in their starting lineup.

Jaylen Brown is the youngest and LeBron is obviously the oldest one.  Grin  I also think they should let LeBron lead the team.

I don't expect him to play a role like he gets most of the balls and goes for shooting mostly. Those times are left behind already. His role will be different than that.

Just as his role at Lakers last season. He'll just support the team by distributing the balls. Jaylen Brown should be the one who will play as the most active one among them.

I think LeBron is going to have to take a back seat to Jaylen Brown's ego personally...  I also think he's prepared to do so and that is why he took the minimum.  With Brown being the youngest, I think he is definitely going to be carrying the scoring load this season.

Dwight Howard is trying to get signed to the 76ers now...

Last year's roster had some holes but still it was solid enough to get them into the NBA's top 8 in the playoffs. they're even better this year with Brown and LeBron.
imo if they manage to trade for a backup big man sth like Daniel Gafford type player a championship run is definitely within reach.

Shams Charania tweeted about the official deal for LeBron half an hour ago. He is now officially a Philadelphia 76ers player after signing his contract. There is a 15% trade kicker also in the deal.

But the money he will make is really like a joke! Tongue Only $8m for 2 years? I can't imagine how satisfied the 76ers board is now about this deal. Maybe he is old but he is still a superstar who can add quite much to the team.

I was surprised just like you when I saw the salary. He said he wasn't going for the money, but I didn't expect it to be this low. He could have negotiated a slightly higher salary, and the Sixers would probably still have agreed, but he didn't. The 76ers' front office is really happy, and who wouldn't be? A guy who averaged 20.9 points last season for only $8M over 2 years, and most importantly, he generates good revenue. Both a boost in their line up and revenue. A huge bargain indeed.

What do you think of bringing Ben Simmons back to Sixers?

The Sixers has struck gold in this deal. You are right, he is old but he could still play the game like the other who received a salary of $20million in any given time plus the most important thing of all is that he could mentor young talents in the team.

Came across a post where it say that the average ticket price for a Sixers last season was $82, now that Lebron is with the Sixers the cheapest ticket  Sixers preseason game is $283. This is one example of what Lebron James could bring to a team.

Honestly, The math is doesn’t make sense on this trade deal regardless if Lebron claiming he is not for the money. I mean sure he is that 76ers is a better contender for Finals compared to Lakers that has Luka already on prime.

Lebron he still has value specially on the overall profit generation of the team that will acquire him.

I will understand if he this trade was done by the team that he has good relationship in the past.

Came across a post where it say that the average ticket price for a Sixers last season was $82, now that Lebron is with the Sixers the cheapest ticket  Sixers preseason game is $283. This is one example of what Lebron James could bring to a team.

That is the Lebron effect right there mate, as it seems like the price has balloon to x4 of the original price. And for sure scalpers are going to have a field day making a lot of money because of this impact of Lebron moving to the Sixers.

In any case, fans are already excited about him, and not just tickets but his jersey could also be selling at a high cost.

Anyone though heard about the rumour that Steph might get traded or request a trade because it looks like the Warriors doesn't want to build a team around him but looking forward for a post Curry era?

It will really happen because of the value LeBron to the team and the area, also this might be his 2 season in the league so getting the moments of LeBron, will be a very special moment for everyone, also they will try to get items and also and then signed the item.
Also the impact LeBron to to the establishments and company in phily, that is why the price went up.
The GSW warriors have not done any trade, maybe they are now preparing for Steph retirement and will no go full blown rebuilding, i have not heard of the trade but they will not trade Steph for sure or if they trade him they will ask for better package.

Sometime in August in the deadline of his contract if I'm not mistaken. And I can't imagine Steph playing in any other team as he could be just a few players who will retire and play with only one team.

But I guess the competitive in him telling his body to go somewhere is if the team that he made and becoming a multiple champion doesn't have any loyalty to him as they are thinking far more advance and preparing themselves without him. Teams though should value their franchise player, it could be though that at the end of the day, it's all about business and moving on the future.

The Sixers has struck gold in this deal. You are right, he is old but he could still play the game like the other who received a salary of $20million in any given time plus the most important thing of all is that he could mentor young talents in the team.

Oh really? That's a quite big increase in such a short time though. 76ers will print money next season then.  Smiley  I can't imagine how many LeBron shirts they'll sell as well...

As his wage is also a really small sum 76ers will be in quite much profit. But I don't expect him to help them only financially of course. I'm pretty confident that we'll see them much more competitive next season.

Yes, this is sports so obviously Lebron is going to help the 76ers in this first year alone. But what we are seeing is that there is this impact that he has, like when he joined the Lakers as his jersey started to sell too.

As for his wage, he already said that it's not about the money, that's why he just sign for a minimum and only for 2 years. At least in that short span of time, he will known if his gamble to join the 76ers is worth it as he could be looking to go for another ring in that 2 years.

To be honest, it hasn’t quite clicked for me either. Sure, LeBron’s a billionaire and probably the GOAT, and he has absolutely no need for money. But why the Sixers? I mean, this trade really was a perfect opportunity for the Sixers, and they could stand to make an incredible profit. We can even see the rise in ticket prices in the previous post already. In fact, this could even be something of a ‘Last Dance’ season for LeBron. It really is one of the best possible scenarios for the Sixers. As far as I know, LeBron had no prior connection with the Sixers. It simply looks as though he’s come to build a super-team and win a ring. In that case, this turns out to be an absolutely brilliant outcome for the Sixers. Provided it doesn’t end up like the 2004 Lakers’ super-team – which was a disaster – it’ll be a great situation for everyone.

I don't think GSW will trade Steph to another team. Steph is synonymous with GSW. GSW wouldn't trade a player like that until he retires. Even though his contract expires in 2027, I think a new deal will be signed—unless Steph himself wants to go to another team.

LOL, Knicks still +900 ( the defending champ, this is crazy..)

The knocks losing Mitchell Robinson is going to hurt more then people think. Guy was a great defender, couldn't shoot a free throw to save his life, but was a great defender.

OKC and the Spurs are going to be in the mix for the next few years so it's no surprise they are the favorites. Boston might surprise some folks.

I think Philly is going to have leadership issues and it's not going to be a lock that they go deep in the playoffs. Going to be huge if they cannot develop some sort of chemistry early in the season this year.

Let’s see first if he really turns out to be a big loss for the Knicks. I still believe their system is a major reason why the team works, so whoever they put at center can remain effective as long as he plays hard and understands his role. The bigger difference for me was getting KAT. Without him, they wouldn’t have the same scoring threat inside or a big man who can stretch the floor. As long as KAT stays healthy, I think the Knicks still have a real chance of winning a championship.

The odds also make it look like they’re being disrespected. Maybe the bookies know something we don’t, but at those odds, it almost feels like they’re offering free money.

Ithink robinson is the major player in their eam during the playoffs run as you can remember towns is on and off his game and robinson is the one who step up for him, also during the finals most of his plays are crucial, he make a big impact to the team because if town goes out he is the one who will sub for him, towns can rest a few minutes.

He must still have value, otherwise Boston wouldn’t give him a three-year contract worth $47.4 million. His free-throw shooting can be a liability, but defensively he is excellent and probably a better rim protector than KAT.

The Knicks simply couldn’t afford to keep him at that salary, so letting him walk was probably their only realistic option. It’s still unfortunate that he joined another playoff team, because there’s a good chance they could meet him again in the postseason.

I don’t think the Knicks will suddenly struggle just because Robinson left, though. They now have Andre Drummond, and maybe their system can make him useful. He can still rebound, protect the paint, and give KAT some rest. He may not replace everything Robinson provided, but he should be able to handle the backup role.
