I'd lean Pods over Westbrook, especially if it's basically the same salary.

I lean Pods over Westbrook, too.

Pods really contributed last season. Didn't dive deep into all the stats, but from watching, he looks like a deadly shooter. In terms of age, he's way younger. Westbrook's around 10 years older and closer to retirement. Pods is still on his rookie deal. and can still be developed. They even started him in a few games and he held his own. He's not a big name yet, but he doesn't really play like a nobody.

I don't know about Podz, for me he is inconsistent. There are games that he looks like a great player for the Warriors with his dagger outside shot. But there are games that he will just be an average due and then committing turn-overs.

And how many years have he been with the Warriors? Next season he should show something otherwise, he might be in the trading block too. As for WB, there are fans that wanted him in the NBA. But it seems that no team are picking him.

Where did this question even come from?  I haven't heard anything about Westbrook being eyed by the Warriors outside of this thread.  I think Westbrook's style of play would be completely incompatible with the Warriors offense.  He would definitely be a negative value addition.  I doubt Kerr is even considering the possibility of Russ being on the team.  It's just not the right kind of basketball.  I don't think the Warriors would take him even if he was willing to play for free.  At least not while Steph is still on the team.

It's probably just speculation only in this board about Westbrook or comparing Podz on Russ. Because it could be him on the Warriors if they wanted him to play with the team. And speaking of the Warriors, Payton and Green has officially coming back to them as they already sign.

At least another year for them to make a run to the title. Seen videos of their last championship in 2022 and it was really different. With Juan Toscano and Otto Porter and Jordan Poole and Wiggins like hitting their prime as the same time. Fun time to watch them looking back.

I also don't know on where they lean towards associating the name of Westbrook on Warriors. Because there are no reports that Warriors have interest to sign him.

And for what I see he's not fit on Warriors for the reasons that his playing style is not aligned on their system, he's old already and inconsistent towards his performance made each game.

So even if people say that have trust on Westbrook still Warriors will continue to lean on Podz because this player is currently what they have and seems they don't have a choice but to trust him at the moment.

For sure this are just rumors and from mba podcasters, but i would lean on westbrook vs pods although the age is the problem with him, like what i said kerr has his own preferred player even if you are great if you are not his type or think would fit on the plays he want you will not going to have a spot.

Yeah right, He had a $3m+ one year vet minimum with the Kings last year, I don't see any better deal coming his way than that at this point of his career if he wants to continue playing in thr NBA.

I also don't think any team would be willing to pay him more than the vet minimum just because of jersey sales. Only his loyal fans are willing to buy it at this point.
LeBron is just on another level. The season hasn't even started yet, but he already made an economic impact, breaking Ohtani's jersey sale after switching teams.
The $8m 2 year deal was his personal choice (chasing the 5th ring) , he could have sign with the Clippers for a 1yr 20m deal.

some people are just like that. their entire life is their work and if you take that job away from them, they’re left without a purpose.
i think that’s the case for LeBron, too.  Smiley He loves basketball so much that he doesn’t want to walk away. that’s why he wanted to keep his competitive edge by moving to a team where he’d play a supporting role rather than being the main star.

btw for a regular athlete decline starts after 30. Lebron led his team to the Conference Semifinals at 41 while averaging 35 36 minutes per game...

Another rumor... Cheesy  I saw some news saying Curry could end up with Boston or Miami, but until now nothing is confirmed.

I’m also not sure if the Warriors can really get DeRozan, but if they do, that would be a good pickup. He’s still a very good scorer, and in terms of attacking the basket and creating his own shot, I think he can even give them more than Butler in some situations. He’s also reliable from the free-throw line and he’s not afraid to take big shots. I really like his game.

Nothing is official yet, but hopefully this one happens.

Based on what we usually see, players around 30 years old may already start to decline. That’s probably true for the majority, though some players actually get better as they age. LeBron is obviously an exceptional case. He’s already 41 and still putting up numbers that look like superstar numbers.

Curry also won championships in his 30s, so I don’t think we can judge a player only by age. Of course, it’s still a gamble for the team, but if the player still has superstar value, I think he’s worth signing. At the very least, he can still attract viewers and bring attention to the team.

Boston Celtics Want Stephen Curry: Brad Stevens Has Made The Call For Blockbuster Trade

Yeah, and if it is a veteran contract, then the Warriors could get him cheap with a quality player for their 2nd stringers. The Warriors could still focus on using some of their space if they are targeting other star players in the league. Also, it's not like they have a championship team now. If they could surround Steph with players who can be a threat on the perimeter, I think it can be good for the team because it will open some space for him.
Let's face it, even in the last season, the baby-faced assassin cannot be left alone, and most of the time he is still being guarded with a double team or sticky defense. You cannot just leave that guy alone.

yeah. what I mean Lebron is 42 and has enough money and passive income to last for generations. reason he still chooses to wake up at 5 AM to train and travel constantly is probably just his addiction to the game.

I wouldn’t call it addiction. I’d call it passion instead. Kobe Bryant was also like that. If you really love the sport and you also have the talent, you will keep finding ways to improve. Hopefully LeBron can stay healthy because at his age, injuries are harder to recover from. Now that he’s with the Sixers and playing alongside Embiid, this team can become a real championship contender.

Maybe that’s also one reason he chose the Sixers, to give himself another good chance to win a championship before retiring. I still think he can play for two or three more seasons because his numbers haven’t really dropped that much.

His impact is different now though. He can’t carry a team the same way he did before. He doesn’t attack as much anymore and focuses more on moving the ball. His three-point shooting can also be inconsistent. Maybe he just needs to adjust his decision-making and find other ways to help the team. Good luck to the Sixers.

btw for a regular athlete decline starts after 30. Lebron led his team to the Conference Semifinals at 41 while averaging 35 36 minutes per game...

Athletically I think players start to decline much earlier than that. They start slowing down as soon as they hit 24 and their jump is on the decline by 27. That is usually countered by a constant improvement in skills and experience. That is why players can continue performing at increasingly high rates into their early 30s. By LeBron’s age, even the mental is slowing down. Nothing about his game is improving from here…
