Just checked. I started in September 2017 and almost all profits wiped out in the last few days.
I rolled over my investment from Crypto-games last month so my investment doubled.
Bad time to double my investment!

Investor since 2017 as well, but since doge and ltc were the ones doing really well, I didn't top up my btc. I avoided a huge loss when I withdrew from MP just before they had their weird bout of variance but yeah, wiped out also by Easter weekend haha. Like I said though, ended up winning it all back and then gained 2 levels, but nice to see profits returning. That's what you get for max leverage =p Now let's see if that luck rubs off on me in real-life lottery =D

That is the difference between actually gambling and investing. When you gamble there is a chance that you can win and profit early on, you have that chance because this is gambling and you can very well just put 0.1 bitcoins in to a 999x odd thing and happen to win on your very first chance, that is literally the "odds" that we are talking about, don't get me wrong it is still quite improbable that you would win on your first try on a 999x game, yet its not impossible, it is improbable.

However when you are investing literally the moment you put your money in, some whale could make some profits and you can start your investment at -10% on your first minute. Yet when you look at mathematics, it is clear that gambling over time will lead to losing whereas investment will lead to winning, no matter what happens in the middle, the results will be the same in the end.

I guess this was just an anomaly that basically hurt every investor in the end and we are talking about years of profits gone, however we can't say that it is not out of possibility so we have to just accept it.

Normally if this was due to some bug or glitch on the website that caused some person to end up winning more than they should be winning, however that doesn't seem to be the reason why there is a big fall, whoever wins looks like he actually won fair and square and maybe even not just one person but multiple.

What we can hope now is simple, just pray that people who won all of this money, continues to gamble and later end up losing all of the money they won, that looks like the only short term thing that would help us out, if they don't lose that money back, that means it will take years to make this profit back.

Nope, didn't work haha. Though I have to say I'm actually IN profit after just over a year of playing lottery (you get prizes for even 2 numbers correct and since). I'd rather just not have all those smaller prizes if it helped my absurd chances of winning the JP though!

Casinos could still make a loss as well, just because it has a house edge doesn't mean that they will always profit forever and never lose any money, there is a reason why some casinos go bankrupt as well.

If we were talking about unlimited amount of money to cover for all the losses any casino would make a profit in a long enough period however casinos do not have unlimited amount of money neither, most of them start this investment option because of that because thousands of people getting together to bankroll the casino is something quite important for the future profits of it.

However when a casino has limited bankroll, and some whale comes in and plays the max constantly and ends up winning a lot, it sets you back, just as you start to earn small by small like expected, another whale could come in and destroy it, few of these in a row and casino will run out of money to pay before they could actually profit.

Never played the lottery honestly, I didn't even checked because honestly I thought it was like the lottery in freebitcoin where only handful of people win something, learning that there is a different type of lottery, I will probably get some myself, would you say it was entertaining to play or would you prefer to play something else? That way I could know what I am in for before I begin, I already found a game I really like very recently so I have to put it on the list.

Not really. I still wouldn't trust 100% some places I gamble a lot at, especially the anonymous ones where there is absolutely no protection against an exit scam. I trust them, only because I've been with them long and they've honoured payments, etc. I'd even recommend them, including Bitvest. But I'd never ever say to people you can trust anyone 100%. It's just irresponsible.

Months for me but I read for others it is years,,, but you know how investments work right? Everything is risk and as TimeTwister says. Variance. In the long, long, long term, we should be in profit because of the house edge. But in the short term, someone can always win big, as the Easter weekend shows. Amazing though.

A lot of bad times to invest now can not be expected to double I lost all my capital a few days ago come to double For this reason I have now wrapped myself up and stopped all investment for the time being. This is not surprising as the number of losses will continue to increase if the investment is not stopped The market is having a bad time now For months our profits have disappeared.

I like bitvest very much because it has provided me with one of the best functionality that I needed as a chronic gambler, which is to be able to invest and lock my funds for a period of time without being able to withdraw it. This has led to me not gambling over 20 days in a streak consistently as no other method worked for me and thus I love bitvest very much I understand investment risks like losing money if a lucky player wins but still, it's safer than me busting it all away xD

Well, it is not really all that difficult to know the difference between a shady losing money and legit losing money. In one of them your money is gone, like totally gone and never coming back, look at betking for example, your money is gone if you had any on their website or if you ever invested in them, you are not getting that money back in no means at all.

However in legit places you lose some money because of some whale ending up winning, and you will get it back overtime, maybe it will take years before you can be in profit once again but that doesn't change the fact that you will make some sort of profit eventually. That is a very very clear distinction in the end, not like it will have any type of similarity between them, just because you lost some money doesn't make them similar.

Yeah lightlord is quite the busy dude and I could understand why he wouldn't be here all the time. Dude is running so many campaigns and so many other stuff that he couldn't even find time to pay everyone once a week like he used to back in the day, so he turned it into biweekly as well and doing it that way right now and thats just the signature campaigns. He is doing a lot more as well.

I think he is one of the busiest people in bitcointalk world, not in general, sure there could be some CEO of a big company with an account here, who knows we can't proof there is not, but lightlord is the busiest man that is busy because of bitcointalk. Hence I understand why he comes in here and does quick stuff and leaves, because he doesn't really have time to do everything all the time.

Just checked today and finally seeing some recovery on our investments after THAT heavy loss incurred. I divested after that, gambled to win back everything lost, and reinvested on 17th April, nice to see 11% gains already. I wonder if the whale came back to play and lost or we're just getting a lot more new players here?
