We are at the open-beta stage of our Bitcoin Raffles project and would like to invite you to have a go. At the moment we are only running two raffles, one for an iPad Mini and the other for a year of cloud-based web hosting.
The concept isn't completely unlike crowd funding in that the first batch of tickets sold (indicated by the counter on each raffle) need to sell before a winner can be chosen as the funds gathered from those tickets cover the cost of the prize. Over the next 7 days after those tickets have sold, tickets may still be bought (and will be valid for the prize) but 100% of the funds from those tickets will go to a BTC bonus pot. The prize winner will be drawn at the end of the seventh day as will the winners of the BTC bonus draw. Winning tickets will be posted on the site as well as sent via PGP-signed email to the winners.
We use the Blockchain API to generate wallet addresses and receive payments; once out of the beta phase we will offer anonymous transactions feature. Although the system is in beta, each stage is logged - from requesting a ticket, to monitoring your transaction process so don't worry about your payment getting lost in the void.
The site is available on tor as well as the clearnet, and we have tried to find a happy medium between security, performance and aesthetics (Few graphics, no Javascript).
We realise that with so many scammers and dodgy schemes around that it's not enough to build a system and assume people will buy into it straight away, so other than our business concept/model transparency we decided to register a real-world domain instead of residing only in Tor. However, I welcome greatly any questions or comments on how to help gain the trust of potential players.
TL;DR:
- Players buy raffle tickets
- Once counter has reached zero, winners are chosen after 7 days
- Tickets bought during those 7 days fund the BTC bonus pot
- Winners notified via PGP-signed email & announced on the site
