Hi
I made this pool so we can have an idea what is the most used type of wallets for the daily usage of bitcointalkers.

Please do not choose the option that you prefer and you think safer but the one that you use every day/week.
You can specify your wallet here after voting
The poll will run for 30 days

FAQ  Tongue
Q: Why you made this topic?
A: for statistical purpose? Curiosity?

I will pick the second option: web wallet -  blockchain.info  (until now but with the repetitive downtime i may change it to coinbase)

I make the most use of Mycelium. Those options are a tad fuzzy.

I think mobile software wallets would be the most used.

Airbitz, Breadwallet, and Mycelium I believe are the most used wallets. Don't get me wrong there are other great ones out there like Trezor or Armory, but the question was *Most Used* so when it comes to trading at a local meetup or buying food at a local restaurant that accepts bitcoin, the most used will have to be some kind of mobile wallet on someone's phone.

Really desktop wallets? I find myself using Mobile Wallets the most.

Examples:

1) Splitting cigarettes with a coworker, I'll just send some BTC over
2) Buying food at restaurants like at City Tacos (http://citytacossd.com/)
3) Meeting up with people and trading bitcoins (for a profit or just to help someone start out)
4) Buying stuff on Overstock or Cryptothrift. I just scan the QR code while at the website.

I think online web wallets are the most popular because people are too lazy to figure out how to use and backup their own wallets.

i hope it's bitcoin core, so you can also have a good estimate about the % of node that are running here and that will be ready for the future

Well i only use local wallets, bitcoin core and electrum, and i'm quite satisfied. The only thing that made me try out anything other than bitcoin core was
the very slow sync with blockchain, so i added electrum for my smaller spendings.
Don't see why some people choose web based wallets, where you entirely rely on third party service ?!

Since my start on around late 2011 on bitcoin life (not when I started on this forum) I used blockchain.info's web wallet and it sure gets many problems down the road compared to the others but I also see it as the most complete one out there and ever since then I never had second thought for choosing it as the pros are much more than it's cons

I use mycelium, Electrum and Trezor. Better than this is only the Core in my opinion but I don't have the resources nor nerves to run it.

I can imagine though that there are many people using blockchain.info. I was shocked when I learned that there are 4.5M blockchain.info wallets in existence.

For me, main the web wallet (Coinbase, Xapo and mobile CoinPocket) and paper wallets. I do use the bitcoin core in the past but seldom nowadays as I have not been synchronizing the blockchain data for months...

I was introduced to bitcoin with coinbase as my bitcoin wallet and most newbies right now were introduced first to either blockchain.info wallet or coinbase (for convenience as it was easy to sign up and does not need to download anything.) I guess thats the most type of wallet right now

You should add android/mobile phone wallet, for daily spending I used mycelium, it can used anywhere, anytime as long as you bring your phone, usually I bring my phone anywhere.

I recently got an Android phone but I've not installed a wallet on it yet, or investigated any of the wallet options. Is mycelium the most popular free wallet, and how much memory does it consume on a smart phone? I've been thinking about trying one of the Bitcoin ATMs but you need a smart phone wallet to use them.

Well in terms of number of downloads on google play store Andreas Schildbach's Bitcoin Wallet was the most popular as it has more than 500k+ downloads. But I can see most people here suggest mycelium and that's also my first mobile wallet. Its only small with 6+ MB

You should have allowed multiple voting, as I use both online wallets, paper wallets and software wallets. However i voted for online wallets as they are the ones i use mostly.

1. I mostly used/using web wallets. Because most of the time, when my PC is not with me web wallets will be the one and only choice to spend bitcoin.
2. I use software wallets, whenever my PC is with me.

And also i've more bitcoins in web wallets than i've in software wallet.
