I know tons of people outside this forum that only use web wallets. It's more convinient for daily transaction. Not everyone also has a PC to have a software wallet.

Small but usable amounts in one wallet and cold storage for the other once the amount gets large enough

I use online wallets. Most people I know use online wallets. The safer option is to use hardware wallets, but people(including myself) are not bothered to download and set up all that stuff. I think the most popular wallets, are online wallets. Even though online wallets aren't the safest option, they are convenient and people are fine with using them at the risk of being attacked by malicious software. Another good way of using online wallets is your smartphone. Just put up your QR code for your account and people can easily send money to your account.

Whatever Bitcoin wallet you choose, it is important to protect it from hacking. By encrypting your passwords, backing up your wallet, and possibly using multi-signature you can ensure safety and security of your Bitcoins.

I am mostly using Desktop wallet - I started with Multibit some years ago. Currently using MultibitHD.
I agree that to have wallet on my mobile is quite usefull and handy Smiley. I have Mycelium for that.

I have wallet in XAPO too, but not used for large sum.

Yes web wallets are good for newbies as well as who does many small transactions in a day and can access from any where but desktop wallets are good to store your large bitcoins safely. I use XAPO web wallet for my every day transactions to avoid my transaction fee and desktop wallet to store my bitcoins. Apart from these two I have blockchain wallets also.

I think the most used one are online wallets, especially blockchain
Online wallets tend to be more newbie friendly compared to the others Wink
And you don't need to download big chunk of data when using it compared to desktop wallets Roll Eyes

I've been using blockchain.info ever since I got into bitcoins.

Would've probably used the gox exchange had I gotten into this earlier so I guess I did dodge a bullet in a way even though I missed cheap coins. Tongue

You should add android/mobile phone wallet, for daily spending I used mycelium, it can used anywhere, anytime as long as you bring your phone, usually I bring my phone anywhere.
Well maybe i should individualised it but with Mobile phone, i think the majority are using blockchain.info or coinbase or mycelium. For the first 2 better to consider them as web wallets, for mycelium ~ software wallet?
This is a little bit confusing  Embarrassed

You should have allowed multiple voting, as I use both online wallets, paper wallets and software wallets. However i voted for online wallets as they are the ones i use mostly.
The question is precise : what's the most used?
Allowing multiple voting will make the vote inaccurate tho

I think that web wallets are the most used wallets among the Bitcoin community. They are the easiest to use and are a fast alternative to software wallets which provide more security over convenience.

1. I mostly used/using web wallets. Because most of the time, when my PC is not with me web wallets will be the one and only choice to spend bitcoin.
2. I use software wallets, whenever my PC is with me.

And also i've more bitcoins in web wallets than i've in software wallet.
And you are not worried if you lose your mobile device that you lose not only smartphone but all potentially can lose access to your coins as well?
Not to mention of innate insecurity of web and cloud solutions is well known. Instead of web wallet why don'y you use software wallet with simplified validation.

For everyday use Copay is a very good solution. It's very simple, SPV, connects easily to the network and gives you a lot of options: like multisig, shared wallets etc.

I use Web wallets. I know many people think that it is insane to use them, but I think since you can't be 100% safe using any wallet, why not use a convenient one then.

Coinkite is my favorite. If I'm making a terrible mistake please tell me.
