What is most used type of wallet is online web based wallet in my point of view blockchain.info is no.1 but personally I am using both software wallet Bitcoin Core and blockchain successfully and will keep continue.I think there are majority of users which use more than one type of wallets like me.

For me the only wallet I use is Bitcoin Core. It has never let me down so far. Its only downside is that it might take a while to open and sync, but that's not a problem if you do something else in the meanwhile.

Software wallet for me is just good preference. I need to have access to my Bitcoins, but I preffer to have control of it on my computer. That`s why.

I voted for software wallet as I'm familiar with it and it most suits for my requirement of securing my hard earned bitcoins. Cold storage and having control over private keys are the reasons I still prefer software wallets.

I only use Schildbach mobile wallet and cold storage. I should be more trusting and consider online wallets but I just can't. If I lose my BTC I want to be the person responsible for the loss, not some hacker somewhere.

Only Bitcoin Core. Other alternative clients have problems time to time. Web wallets, hell no. If you don't hold private keys you don't have coins. Paper wallers etc., I don't trust them.

Firstly i think that the most used type of wallet are web wallets. Because they are easy to setup (being registered) and more portability. Software wallets are popular too but less portable comparing with web wallets.

I think most used one is web wallet because people including me find it easy to store bitcoin without knowing how actually bitcoin and blockchain technology works.

Software wallet for easy usage. Hardware wallet for security. Online wallet for nothing I guess! I still think it is best to use core alone. Even if it is big.

To OP : I think you should add exchange wallet as one of your vote option, because web & exchange wallet are different.
Well i would keep the poll as it but maybe if someone else after the final result would open a new poll he could individualise it. Until now I wasn't surprised to see web+software wallets have more than 90% but 50% goes to software wallets well that wasn't expected (good thing )

Like a lot of people I started on Blockchain.info but I switched to Blocktrail. It's better in about everyday and has nice cross platform support.

Hi I made this pool so we can have an idea what is the most used type of wallets for the daily usage of bitcointalkers. Please do not choose the option that you prefer and you think safer but the one that you use every day/week. You can specify your wallet here after voting The poll will run for 30 days FAQ Q: Why you made this topic? A: for statistical purpose? Curiosity? I will pick the second option: web wallet - blockchain.info (until now but with the repetitive downtime i may change it to coinbase) I use a web wallet; Coinbase. There are to many reasons for this choice even seems that an web wallet is less secure than a personal one had in your computer. First i can access to this kind of wallet from every place i want. Impossible with the wallet in my computer. Then the money in Coinbase there are secure because 98% of customer funds are stored offline. So no any kind of hacker can stole those. Then you have full control of your money because you can create a multisig vault in minutes, just like you would do with a regular vault or wallet. The difference is that in this case you're in total control of your private keys. You control the majority of the keys and the keys are created and encrypted in the browser. And the last benefit you have from having such wallet is the insurance. Coinbase is insured against employee theft and hacking in an amount that exceeds the average value of online bitcoin it holds at any given time. Specifically, Coinbase's insurance policy would respond in the event that bitcoin stored in Coinbase was lost or stolen as a result of a breach of our physical security, cyber security, or as a result of employee theft. Coinbase has held this insurance since November 2013 with highly rated carriers (S&P rating of A+ or A.M. Best Rating of A XV or higher).

I used bitcoin core and electrum. Both work pretty smooth and I never had any issues. I also tried web wallets in my early days of Bitcoin. At that time I had no clue how dangerous it could be to leave your coins there as they are not really yours. As I noticed this I stopped using web wallets.

I use electrum for my daily usage because it is lightweight and much easy to use on my old laptop. So i choose the option software wallet.
According to me hardware wallets are not easy to use, though i have never used them. And the paper wallets can not be considered for daily usage. Brain wallet's security is very poor and anyone can crack it with brainflayer.
