Either it's me who can't find it through the forum's search function or it's not there any more.

I remember having seen it here before though and read some of the posts he was making in the beginning of this forum. Wanted to go back and read some of them for nostalgia but it's nowhere.

On a related note:

What would you say to him/her/them if the account in question started being active on these forums again or made an AMA?Smiley

Titled edited to relate to recent discussion about the actual creator of bitcoin more than his account on here.
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Ahh, there he is, I think the search function in this forum isn't the best. Reminds me of reddit's.

It would be a hell of a day to all of a sudden see that account online again and active. I know I'd have so many questions.

If satoshi nakamoto made an AMA, it will shake the world, even the media which not related to bitcoin/cryptocoin will compete to report it.

The media does so much more for so much less so that wouldn't surprise me at all.

Gonna create a poll just for curiousity to see what people would think about it.

if he can reveal a bit of himself, without revealing anything would be ok i guess, i'm fine with his anonimity, because if he still holding that large % of coins he is in dangerous

and his decision nowadays would have a less impact on the matter i believe...

I read somewhere that the amount of coins he holds is estimated to only be around 5%. 5% is still some serious money though.

yeah they said that he is holding 1M coins, but a less generous estimate, is talking about 700k only, either way not something that i would reveal to the public

there are people with 1k bitcoin that are afraid of revealing this in this forum, and you think that satoshi would do it with 700k, lol no way, everyone would seek for him, no matter what

I think if satoshi going online again, the traffic to the server will overload, so overload they need to upgrade the server Grin
And then bunch of people will spam the forum with "satoshi is back" topic

I think my first question would be, Why did you abandon your experiment? The second question would be, Can or will you ever spend your hoarded coins? That would answer some important questions for many people in this community. If I am allowed a third question, it would be < How do we stop the banks from stealing your technology? >

What I would do if I was him is to wait that 1 bitcoin reaches $50,000 - $100,000 and then I would announce that I would start moving and selling coins bit by bit. 95% of the coins I would sell and give to the humanitarian organizations and 5% or even less I would keep as a reward for changing this shitty world into a better place.

This would make Satoshi definitely a biggest man that ever walked the planet, if everything would go as I envisioned of course! Smiley

when it reaches to that height of price and then he also announce that he is starting to move and selling the coins . are you nuts that in that price he will sell and do you think that everyone will buy after he is selling. what a comment .

The account was locked as a security precaution. He probably won't get it unlocked unless he signs from an address that he controls. I would ask him the reason for leaving the development team so abruptly and not touching his BTC. Afterall, he could have just sold majority of them if he have control to it.

Doubt he will return either. If he was he probably would have done it by now. I would like to know if he still has access or plans to spend his coins, though.

After the forum got hacked Theymos advised us all to change our passwords, especially if they were short or a common phrase. Satoshi probably had a strong password so it's not probable that his account was hacked, but even the best programmers aren't infallible. Sometimes they use a weak password to save time when logging in. I suppose it's always faintly possible his account was hacked so Theymos would have to ask him to sign a message given the importance of his account.

I am ready to bet my life that if he would announce selling his coins for helping people all over the world, price wouldn't fall a single percent. Not just that, but this would be the biggest story in the world by far and everyone would find out about Bitcoin, and even the biggest disbelievers would be obliged to change their minds.

If nothing, this would make price go even higher.

It was locked long ago before it got hacked. I feel that it's a great idea, reason being it is quite easy to get anyone's account as long as you have their recovery email. Satoshi's GMX email was compromised and the satoshi account could have been hacked. Also, it would be possible that he have used the password somewhere else and the account could have been compromised.

I wouldn't say he abandoned anything really, this forum is up and running and he let a couple successors control the bitcoin client and it's evolution. I think he did his part, now we the people are doing the other part of making btc a reality in the world and something people will have to get used to. Smiley

Bitcoin haters hate the fact the creator is an anonymous figure whose personal life and political views are pretty much unknown. It does us a big favor. If he was a famous person, Bitcoin would get attacked through the personality and personal views of the creator, because haters are idiots that will use whatever weapons they can to discredit Bitcoin.
