This problem is an old problem I've had for awhile and I'm hoping someone can help me fix it.

When I run the bitcoin wallet program it seems to run fine but I have no GUI. It is running and I can open a console by right clicking the task bar icon and clicking debug window. None of the other options do anything.

The debug window show activity and I can see that my wallet is still syncing. I can click the console tab and commands work like "getbalance".

Other than that I can't see anything. It's like my home GUI window for bitcoin is either hidden of currupted.

I tried backing up my wallet and renaming the bitcoin folder in roaming then running again. It show the splash screen and other info then just vanishes with the icon on the start menu and the task manager showing a lot of CPU activity.

Any help you can give would be great!

Is this Windows, Linux, Mac?  (I'm guessing not Mac since you said right-click and that is less common).

Are  you starting it from your desktop by double clicking?  From the command line?

Which version?

edit:  This might want to be in Tech support vs here.

I would guess the window was created outside of the viable area. This was reported from time to time in the past for windows based systems.

Try giving the window focus via taskbar (e.g. click where you get the console, but use "show/hide") and hit "alt + space" -> "v". Now you should now be able to navigate the window with the arrow keys back into the viewable area. Once its where you want it to be, hit enter.

Maybe try it with a different programm first to understand what you are doing blind.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Hey! That got it. As soon as I pressed Alt + Space a popup came up so I just hit maximize and I could see the wallet again! Thanks!
