This is just ridiculous. How can a person fuck up this much?
I posted a comment earlier saying he deserves more time in prison without even knowing this, now I hope he really does get more time.
At least now he won't need to use btc to pay for sex.

It's not the media, on the site it says mt. gox ceo. It's just OP who's braindead.

the article say mtgox ceo, is the title here that is misleading, OP forgot about the only truly strengh of bitcoin i would not be surprise if he used other money for drug for example, rich people use their wealth for superfluous things

Numerous websites and diaries said "Bitcoin CEO" literally, and they tought that "Bitcoin went bankrupt" when they meant MTGox. Imagine if we are ahead of the pack, that entire populations think Bitcoin has a CEO. I can't believe Japan can be so dumb with their headlines when they are leaders in technology.

This is why Satoshi needs to come forward to be honest. We need another face to represent bitcoin instead of that french fuck.

It's meant to be from a beginning that way. If the media are illiterate idiots then that's their problem, not ours. Also it seems to me that OP has made the same mistake as the media since in the Tokyoreporter article that he has posted they don't say Bitcoin CEO, but Mt. Gox CEO. Unless he has read MSN article and posted Tokyoreporter one!

After he was cought for multiple allegations with countless evidence, i am surprised that he still bases his stance as not guilty. How can a person do so much harm to both his own company and bitcoin in general, and still have courage to plead not guilty..
The man needs to be cleaned off from everything he owns and lock up in prison for a lifetime. Doubt anyone here still believes that the mt.gox funds were ever stolen by anyone other than Karpeles himself.

I'm sure his wealthy wife will be thrilled to hear about this, and he might have trouble getting her to share the stash of BTC he probably gave to her.

After Mark Karpeles is sentenced to prison, we will turn a new chapter in bitcoin history. The reputation of bitcoin (community) will recover a bit.

I thought they were separated and she's moved out of Japan, although that's where she was born. I expect she moved when Mt Gox imploded and the press were all over Karpeles. She probably had to move country to get away from all the reporters and people talking about her wherever she went. This prostitute story is the last thing she needs and I hope nobody knows who she is wherever she's living now.
