Voted yes, I think every altcoins should have as many topics as possible in all forums in order to get more users, including btctalk.

I saw users complaining about few btctalkers spamming dash's topic, well the solution in that case is a self moderated thread. (don't know if the poll is related to this situation or not)

Why not.  It is an altcoin and as such is allowed to be spoken about as long as it is in the relevant section.

Direct competitor at this point is still more than a little presumptuous. And indeed must get people's backs up. If Dash approached Bitcoin's marketcap then we would be a direct competitor.

Until then Dash is great tech and a good team who are aiming high. I think Dash should be allowed threads in the altcoin section same as everyone else without them being deleted (which currently happens). But I also think we shouldn't be arrogant and respect where we are.

New members of Bitcoin forum (god help them) may have only heard of Bitcoin and not the crazy feeding frenzy team sport that is the Altcoin section.
They may not have heard of Dash, or any of the other great alts. While this is still a focus of Bitcoin learning and discussion Dash (as a bitcoin clone - albeit a highly modified one) should represent itself here.

So Yes Dash should be here in the Altcoin section but respect it is still an Alt - If we are knocking on the door of Bitcoins market cap then it can call itself direct competition. Until then it may be fantastic tech but needs to be recognised as such by the world. Used, bought, adopted, become widely known, etctec. Despite what I've said above -  spending energy on that is more important than fighting trolls/mods/etc.

I care about educating noobs about scams like Darkcoin/DASH.  I don't care whether it's on Bitcointalk or another forum.

no site has had more trolling and name calling outbursts from snotty brats.
no other place has such chronic pathological liars
no other web site would tolerate greedy money grubbing deceitful little pricks creating 100's of accounts to advertise scam coins.
no other site would allow 8,000 scammy shit coins to be posted.
no other site would allow a rating system to be abused then permit trusted accounts to be sold.
no other site allows such flagrant and obvious adverting and spamming.
no other site handles financial trades and has no rules against running scams or stealing on trades etc.

If a coin can survive and thrive in the brutal conditions and relentless adversity here, it has demonstrated it is antifragile enough to be interesting.

EG, Monero was launched here and is doing very well.

Whining about how awful everything is didn't do that.  Superior technology and a resourceful, committed community did that.

See? Most of them are almost certainly alive and even the ones that aren't have more going on it their heads than what we've been getting in the announcements thread here. There's a couple of the shi.. posters in there now puzzled why folks wont turn off their masternodes.

Not all people seem to understand how the Dash MN payouts work, for example having less masternodes active actually increases the MN payouts which will further encourage either the setup of new
masternodes or keep the current number of masternodes active.

In short : The number of active masternodes together with the mining difficulty directly influences MN pay-outs, low number of masternodes and low mining difficulty gets you higher Dash MN payouts.
Its a prime example of the market at work through demand and supply for both miners and masternodes.
