I can start up guiminer and start mining. Every time I exit the program it locks up the computer. If I hit stop mining it locks. If I close guiminer it locks. I want to play All Points Bulletin Reloaded sometimes and I need my videocard. Maybe there is an argument I can use to give up the video card to games before hashing all the time. It's a nvidia 250.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

-f20 flag can even lag your desktop.
Try higher values (like -f50 and higher). Its also possible, that some applications are just incompatible with mining.
