The Digital Currency Group (DGC), formed earlier in the year via merger between Genesis Global Trading, Grayscale Investments and Bitcoin Opportunity Corp, has received an undisclosed amount in a new round of funding from several large institutional investors. Payment processor MasterCard, Canadian Bank CIBC and Insurer New York Life are just a few of the finance behemoths participating in this funding round.
Barry Silbert, CEO and Founder of DGC, sees blockchain technology as the main driver of a more transparent and improved financial system.
