I still love Core because it feels like "real Bitcoin" and im too scared to use anything else anyway (to store my main amount of BTC) in software.
But I have a problem. The addresses are all over the place now because I always create a new one to receive and send. And it's very hard to order them. It's limited to alphanumeric ordering and that's about it.

I would like to be able to add "makers" so you can order it like: "Coding jobs" and you put all of your addresses related to that under that group. "Withdrawals from X exchange". And you put it all there. "X sig campaign payments"..

And also addresses of creation in another column. You know just to make it more intuitive. Right now is very messy. I know this is not a priority but if you want to see people running nodes I think everything counts. The more accessible and cool features the best, it cant hurt.

In the console/command line and the rpc, there is a thing for having different accounts of addresses for grouping. I don't know how or whether that works in the GUI.

I can't find anything that does what I want to do in the gui. I am scared to play around with command console to be honest.. and it doesn't solve the problem. The point would be to have this all accessible for the average joe on the GUI. The GUI is pretty simple and there is nothing that has to do with address ordering.

works for me. As long as you have a consistant way of naming things alphanumerical sorting is all you need. I also do extra bookkeeping in a spreadsheet, e.g. for partial sums or to track profits with certain services etc.

Groups that could be extended would be nice though.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Right... in bitcoind you can group addresses under account and then get balance by account and also chose to spend by account

If you are looking for GUI , I would suggest blockonomics. You can use tags to group address and see aggregated balances and transactions. It only requires ur public bitcoin addresses.
