Don't know where this thread should belong so I decided to post it here on off topic sections (to avoid issues)

I am just wondering, just like the title says, do you memorize your bitcoin address and private keys?

Personally I do memorize 2 of my BTC addresses and their respective private keys, how about you?

Just curious if there are people like me that memorize such random letters, numbers and symbols Grin

No as I use a new address for every transaction, where possible, so it will be impossible to remember all of them.

I always have my phone with me so no problem handing out a new address to anybody who wants to send btc to me.

Just depends on if you have a life outside of bitcoin.   Wink

I can memorize it if I want to. But I will not put another burden to my problematic brain. I write my keys on paper put it on my wallet and at the back of our family picture and got it laminited.

I would not recommend trying.

I could probably memorize one or two if I wanted to but really have no need for that. I'd rather just use a bitcoin wallet. That being said, I did memorize a few hundred digits of Pi at one time just to see how much I could do so anything is possible  Tongue

If you want to use this as method for cold storage: You don't have to memorize both your bitcoin address and private keys. Bitcoin addresses are generated from the private key, if you remember your private key you can always generated your bitcoin address.

How do you memorise such a long chain of letters? It's not possible unless you have some sort of photographic memory...

I don't memorise them however I can recognise which address and private key is mine and which is not because I sort of have an impression of what the first, say 5 characters of my private key + address is.
