In my own personal point of view if gambling wasn't introduced in our society people might be in different hobbies, games or vices. Gambling can be compare to social media if it is never been introduced no big effects in the economy or within the society will  be noticeable.

There is no potential that gambling will not be created or even if gambling isn't creates no casinos nor gambling sites .There will be a game that will be a gambling they will put a bet in a game to have a thrill or more serious .

Gambling is a sort of habit of human nature and it Gambling was not there, maybe it may still exists with some other name or so. People tends to predict upcoming events and wanna play the outcome of dice etc and combine them and you name them "Gambling".
So Gambling is sophisticated name of doing all this acts with proper rules and regulations.
