I actually wash my hands before handling my dick. I figure since I had a shower a few hours ago my dick is likely clean but my hands that touch everything are not. So wash your hands before handling you're junk otherwise you may get something. You never know some guy with an STD scratching his balls at work then using those same hands to open doors or use your computer.. yuck.
To answer the OP I sometimes wash my hands after going to the bathroom and always after a good shit.

Let me tell you a story
(a TRUE story)
I was kind of dating a chick some years back and when i had moved in with her we were having sex regularly.
She had gone down on me before so one night i thought well i guess it's my turn.
The girl would sometimes pull out my junk and go to town when i was on the phone etc.
So i obviously did not have the opportunity to eat her out..Anyway one night before we went to bed we started to get into it..
And i went down..
She was telling me all of a sudden as she seen me on my way down saying uhh "

Saying ahh naw don't bother etc
Then she says well i got something to tell you..

I got Herpes" she says.
I was surprised big time we had been together for a good amount of time and had sex many times
and even lived together and she never mentioned it before.
She also said she had been on medications for it for a long time and it was pretty much "
under control"
Telling me so there is a risk involved but you probably fine.
Saying when a break out occurs that is when to be more concerned about it.
I was not with her too much longer after that before the relationship
went south.
And i never did catch anything from her (
or any other chick ever)
Lesson learned: Chicks are sometimes diseased wormy deceitful little whores.
