Hello. Please pay attention to my story. Two hours ago I tried to log into my bitstamp account but the password was rejected. I requested a password recovery email on Gmail. Then I could not log into my Gmail account. I restored password on backup email and saw that two-factor authentication to Gmail has been disabled. Same on bitstamp. My balance was $2k and now it is zero. Transaction history shows that dollars was converted to BTC, then BTC was withdrawn to ripple address.
I sent request to Bitstamp support but no answer yet. Don't know what to do. I had 2-FA on gmail and bitstamp, and somehow it was disabled on both. Seems like it 0-day vulnerability or damn know what.
Be extremely careful.

Looks like the "imaginary" THEY.. are targeting newbies with only one or two posts... as usual... nothing else to do guys? Do you really think all bitstamp traders should be registered here and write messages like aspiring writer? I read this forum more than a year, but I have not had the need to say something. Now i have. Ok, i'm newbie and now i'm really have nothing to do. Sit and wait, guys. |

Please try to find out via support, how it the hacker disabled 2FA at bitstamp and gmail. This would be important  withdrawn to ripple address I thougt all ripple users are forced to verificate their identity since some days... or is it just rippletrade ? |

Google support tells me that my google auth application was compromised somehow...but i cannot imagine how.. My btc was withdrawn directly to another btc address without using ripple...so it's the only difference |

Lots us newbies accounts. Usual FUD against Bitstamp or whoever it was. Yeah, right, real hackers with the ability to disable 2FA hit $2k accounts. If you are gonna BS us, at least make up some more credible story.

hmm its very strange,i thought you got hacked or scammed (scammed in this case like you just fill a form on the scampage),or there's bitstamp people behind it,disabling 2FA is really hard tho

Who would employ somebody here to FUD BitStamp? Its competitors?

Approximately 3 months ago I had my coinbase, btcjam, cryptsy, and btc-e accounts hacked using similar means. I don't know if it's the same guys or not, but in my case:
The attackers somehow were able to compromise my e-mail account so they could 'password reset' everything (and tried to cover their tracks by deleting relevant e-mails, but fortunately outlook.com lets you recover deleted e-mails so I saw exactly what they did). They socially engineered my wireless provider over their customer support chat into allowing them to set up a call forwarding number, which they then tied to a google voice account. Then they set up an Authy account to bypass the 2FA on coinbase and cryptsy by 'authenticating' themselves using my wireless credentials.
I lost about 4 BTC all told, fortunately most of my BTCjam btc were tied up in investments so they couldn't extract them. But it was a real wake up call.

it's make me scared , you has added two-factor authentication at gmail account ? and now your 2fa at gmail account get disable ? what 2fa service you use ? Authy ? athenticator ? sms 2fa ? |

Funny how both of your gmail and bitstamp got hacked on the same time  Maybe there's keylogger hidden inside your pc ? Try to scan your pc first for any suspicious programs Or maybe someone gave you a phising link to fool you and get your passwords from there Im really sorry for your loss |

Well I'm sure that by now, there would be an uproar on the internet and Twitter if Bitstamp's security had indeed been compromised. Bitstamp is one of the most trusted if not the most trusted Bitcoin exchange out there. I'm not saying you guys are making this up but you gotta admit it's a little strange when out of the blue you get a few newbie accounts popping up on here complaining about being hacked. If what you say is true then I sincerely hope you get your money back. Good luck!
