Was expecting more of a steady rise this time.  All seems a bit too sudden, which makes me question if it's just a temporary thing.  The last big pump was around November too, is that just a coincidence?

good that i bought everything i could at 180 USD 6 months ago.... Roll Eyes

It also means somebody sold the coins to you at $180.

Just hold and use the bitcoin, with more adoption, the price will be even higher.

The media exposure is good for bitcion. There is not much bad news about bitcoin recently.

$6 billion already the market of Bitcoin. Last 2 billions went in the last 3 days.

It is really insane.

I hope is not manipulated by a huge fund again.

Yup, the news coverage is awesome, but here's the fun fact - as soon as the price stops increasing there will be ten times more  "bitcoin is loosing power to rise further"
and later on after that "bitcoin is crashing/dying again".
It will serve nicely to us while the news are positive like now, but it will add much more to panic and FUD when the price corrects or simply stops having support.

I have a feeling that they are about to have even more to talk about. $419 on Bitfinex !! For God's sake, this is not stopping but it's even speeding up!

Almost a $100 rise in 24 hours! This is insane!

It is insane!  That's why I took some of my BTC today and bought gold.

I'll stick around with the rest of my BTC, however, and enjoy the insanity!  I agree that the more publicity re BTC, the better.

(Maybe buy a bit BTC more with some FIAT$ today...  Au > BTC > CA$H)

It's always exciting when this happens, media just follows the news, last time we saw bitcoin everywhere, I guess if this doesn't stop for a few months we will see the same again.

Of course the media will jump onto this like a pack of hounds. They will do that for everything lately.

Question is; will it be good or bad for bitcoin adoption? Will it cause another collapse later on if it skyrockets because of news and media bringing in new investors and said investors deciding a 2000% profit is enough on their risky investment in this technology they don't understand, and selling when others start to get an avalance going of the price.

Time will tell I guess, but I'm sure it's going to be a hell of a ride for many here.

Yeah of course. The media people don't really care about whether Bitcoin is good or bad, they just want to look smart in front of their viewers.

And yes. This will definitely help the price rise if Bitcoin for a short period of time, the price is not going to skyrocket because of this, but it will make a small difference.

Of course they will be talking about it. People who bought bitcoins just in early october have almost doubled their money. That is a lot of profit in comparison to other securities these days.

It may be another year where Bitcoin was the most profitable investment
Kind of funny though it has both of those notorious titles BEST and WORST investments of the year.

It all depends on the time of investment. Sure, it lost a lot from the ath, but even the bottom was not much lower than the previous ath. Over the past 6 years it must be been more of a good performing asset than a bad one.

Ofcourse if you bought after the 2013 hype, you got burned badly in 2014.

Timing is of course important but what is even more important is well persistence, those that got burned badly in 2014 may still be down if they really bought at the peak but by holding instead of cashing out they may still enter the green now if they pace keeps up or they dollar cost averaged it.
Sort of a couch potato approach to it.

Yes, this is great that they have started reporting this early since they will just add more of the purchasing power to this rally. This is a difference compared to a rally of 2013. In 2013, they didn't even know what a hell is Bitcoin and they have started reporting massively only when we crossed $1,000 mark.

And we all know how they reported about us, mostly negative stuff.

If you (not necessary you) have more fiat and buy the bitcoin, but if you cannot hold long enough, just sell it at $1000, the profit you make will be the smaller than the other guy having half of your fiat, but sell at $10000.

Just hold on and be patient. You will be rewarded.

steady increase is unrealistic, wehn you see a steady increase you alòready now there will be no bubble, but only one guy manipulating the market

this is actually more in line with bitcoin

If the price trend continues, bitcoin will be the most profitable investment of the year. It is much than Western Stock exchanges index.
