In some of these countries ban is only nominal. And you still can trade without problems.
For example trading bitcoins in Vietnam is still unrestricted by law, and two largest bitcoin markets in Vietnam - VBTC and Bitcoin Vietnam are working without being restricted.

I think once most countries legalise bitcoins the countries on this list will also legalise it.
Otherwise they are just staying behind the curve, like Russia and the 5 year plan.

they cannot stop you from using it, how they can even thinking of knowing about the activity of every citizens of their population, is insanely stupid to think

i would continue to use bitcoin if i were there, i would simply avoid to exchange it for fiat, after all is the final target of bitcoin

mmh thinking about this, it will force the directly usage of bitcoin more, which is good in the end

I wouldn't worry about that! We can see bitcoin's infrastructure is improving! Ppl are buying up the price! More and more ppl find the advantages! They will start to accept it even in the restricted countries! Gov will change their unreasonable stance, just like Russia!

I mean a lot of drugs are banned and people still use them. Bitcoin doesn't have the side effects that drugs do. You can't test positive for owning a bitcoin.

There are some people from those countries that still use BTCitcoin without any problem, the thing is I think it's only banned for using it for physical stuff on stores and exchanging it and people are still free to use it online as they can't (the government) control people from using it

I'm starting to think these newbie accounts are just here to spread FUD and drama over bitcoins. They are either people who missed the train and want the price to go down so they can buy in again, or members of r/buttcoin.

Sad to hear regarding about this thread, so many countries banned because of using bitcoin that can't be taxed by the government. What a lame! The government itself is afraid for sure to be defeated by a virtual currency.  Cool

There is no effective way to ban Bitcoin completely. It could scare off potential investors and the general public and brick and motar buisnesses would not deal with it. But it is still an effective way to transfer money and use online. Users can still transfer money to another person from another country and trade Bitcoins with them.

Any source or info that how will the ban take place and what all will be included in the ban? They can never ever ban bitcoin. You need to ban the whole of the internet to ban bitcoin, else monitoring the transactions of bitcoin from your country is impossible.

To ban Bitcoin, the government can easily do what the Chinese did. That is to blacklist all the known IPs of the website and Bitcoin nodes. Monitoring of transactions will be possible if the government creates large amount of Bitcoin nodes /16 IP block apart, only allowing them to connect to the nodes within the country and it would effectively create a sybil attack. Otherwise, they have to find a vulnerability in Bitcoin clients.

Don't worry those countries are pretty much irrelevant sh*tholes.  Once they see that everybody else is using bitcoin they will change their mind.

I think they banned it because they may have misunderstood how blockchain and bitcoin works or they have no any idea about all of this. There are lots of countries like mine Nepal where i think only 0.001% people know the word bitcoin. So if more people know how blockchain technology works in future, these restrictions will be removed.

Don't worry about it my friend Wink, bitcoin cant be stopped, do you need an example? did any country stopped the bittorrent for example? No.
Bitcoin is not about what countries can say or not, even if they think this is illegal, if two guys want to use it as a payment, they cant stop it.

Do you think governments would ban Bitcoin because of misunderstanding about the system? They have lots of resources to refer from. Bitcoin is banned mostly due to the fact that government want to establish a control over their citizen and prevent them using it for unlawful purposes.

If bitcoin is proved to be useful and successful in other countries. The government which ban the bitcoin will legalize it and its people will benefit from it.

It will be quite opposite, if bitcoin will be successful, governments will see BTC as a threat to their own controlled currency.
And will try to ban, regulate or convince people that bitcoin is not trustworthy to invest in.
