Are there any options markets out there?  Bitfinex doesn't have one.  I found a bunch of casino games last night...just ridiculous.

Would love to buy a put option right now.

Might also place some speculative call options at $550.

Can this be done?

There's Coinut, for vanilla and binary, European options. Quedex doesn't seem to have fully launched yet, so Coinut is the only choice for vanillas.

There are plenty of sites that do binaries but not vanilla, but I don't really pay much attention to them.

Thanks, LMGTFY!

(Did you google that for me?)

Saw that one last night and it seems OK, but there aren't many available contracts there.  More now than last night, though!  Might have to play around with it.  I'd suspect that eventually these markets will be more robust.  For now, there must just not be enough playaz.

Ha, no! (I'd forgotten what my ancient username came from!) I've been trading on Coinut for a while - 6 months maybe? - and enjoying it! Their options are BTC/USD, bought and sold using BTC, which took me a while to get the hang of. I joined their signature campaign, first one I've joined, and I wouldn't do that unless I was fairly happy with them!

I've been waiting for Quedex to open, as they do BTC/USD but also USD options (bought and sold in BTC, and I think that may make more sense to me). I've been waiting a while though!

That's a good reference from a name I recognize.  Will definitely look into it more and give you credit for the referral if I move forward.

HILARIOUSLY, I would not have noticed your signature if you hadn't pointed it out.  I have managed to mentally tune those out COMPLETELY, even when they are relevant to a question I've asked.

Much obliged!
