Any suggestions on why Zapwalletxes would not be removing my zero confirmation txns. I have tried mode 1 and 2

Running latest Bitcoin Core 11.1 on a Macbook Pro

i have run ./Bitcoin-QT -zapwalletxes from the terminal both connected to the internet and disconnected.

My zero confirmation txns will not go away....

Suggestions?
