It's an exit scam, after you order, they will tell you it fails.
When you try to call to request a refund, they tell you 24-48 hour and it never happens, don't believe? Look up "tigerdirect scam" or "tigerdirect reviews" There is a common pattern of what happens to every one.

It's been 10 days since I ordered, I've had around 20 phone calls with them all running around in circles, everything they say to you is a lie, it's a stall tactic, they will say whatever they can to keep you waiting for a few more days or to just get off the phone, it's ALWAYS a lie.
The idea is, if they stall you long enough you won't care anymore and they keep your money.

This is a warning to fellow BTC'ers that decide to maybe order from tigerdirect.
Do not, for any reason, EVER trust tigerdirect with online orders, it is a scam and the customer support is only hired to sit there and lie all day (Seriously).

Thanks for reading.

tigerdirect.ca?

I've ordered from them many times with no issues.

ya me too.. although it was way back.

what the OP failed to mention is...... his payment method.
i say this because i had heard waaay back that Tigerdirect.com (not.ca) accepts Bitcoin.
so...

anyway i last used NCIX.ca and Newegg.ca and all went well.
I even had my payment frozen after a day or two with Newegg (via Paypal)
and even though it took a month or two for me to get the money from Paypal (they unjustly froze my account)
Newegg was always friendly and patient (waiting for their money)
even though i had already received a few grand in PC hardware.

I could have just walked off with the hardware and never paid Newegg too
But i kept trying to keep them updated and told them i guarantee 100% you guys WILL be paid in full.
And i kept my word..Newegg got every cent.
$1,228.97 + $652.53
(my order was auto split into 2 when i clicked submit) ..one part was items from Newegg and the other was drop shipping.

The only thing that happened is they froze my Newegg account since my Paypal payment got frozen..
which is understandable..
I told them i felt bad and wouldn't blame them if they perma-banned me.
they never did the second they got their money they unlocked my account.

I have family that always use Newegg for many years never any issues going back a decade.

NCIX was new to me but good prices and i had no troubles either.. good service !
I also never had any problems with Tigerdirect either (all three sites the Canadian .ca version)

Anyway i have no idea how cancelled orders would potentially work with Tigerdirect.COM (if using BTC)
I would be willing to bet they are extra cautious when handling Bitcoin matters..

Paypal froze my account for almost 2 months because they claimed i ran a Financial money type business.
they said this AFTER they locked my account.. they kept changing their story as to what the problem was.
And what did i do ? I sent the minimum from BTC-E to Paypal 2x ($2500) which cost $500 in fees from both parties.
In the end Paypal insisted i get a signed affidavit stating i admit i broke their TOS by using digital money with them.
or i would not have my account unlocked etc.. (i still had a few grand in there)

So if you think about it, Tigerdirect may have had troubles with people and are now extra cautious.
I highly doubt they are out to rip people off.. they want  to make money and you don't shoot the cow.

You need to post evidence to back up your claim, signing up with a new account to shout 'scam' isn't good enough.

For all we know you're just a dissatisfied customer, disgruntled ex-employee or run a competing business.

Look up "tigerdirect scam" or "tigerdirect reviews"

How about you post links to specific evidence of your claims. It's a fairly serious accusation against a large business so just telling to google reviews is not going to be sufficient.

I think your thread would have more credibility with some pictures, screen-caps and order information potentially.
We want to be able to see what's going on with the order and we want cold hard facts.

People have used tigerdirect a lot, it was a reputable business the last I checked.. Are you positive you are using a valid link and not a scam/redirect?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=876200.0

edit:
i was right too when i said early i bet you guys used Bitcoin.
And hippytech why does your collection of info show both .ca and .com ?
you claim you used Bitcoin with Tigerdirect.ca but .ca does not accept Bitcoin
edit2:
i just checked again and NO tigerdirect.ca does NOT accept Bitcoin
it mentions Visa then Paypal then Mastercard that is it..

you lost it after 3 days ?
puuuhleeze you had a cake walk i was raped by Paypal 1,0000000x worse LOL
they stole my money a total of about $5,000 usd then claimed there was a problem
then wouldn't say what it was and it took longer than three days to get the 1st excuse which kept changing..
First problem they claimed was that i had to verify my identity.
The n when that was settled they switched to another problem..
on and on and on it went fro 2 fucking months !
The last problem they claimed was that i had used Bitcoin.
Which as not the problem they said when they locked my account and froze my newegg order.

I went through absolute bloody hell with them and no thanks to BTC-E
who has never posted a warning anywhere stating that withdrawing cash money to paypal
violates Paypal's TOS.. instead BTC-E had occasionally kept increasing the fee's they charge.
So you get double charged for fee's..
My total fee's on 2 transfer cost me $500 usd
yup LOL

The get this after fighting with Paypal and uploading about 63 images
and god knows show many emails etc for 2 whole months they told me my account was unlocked.
So i went and looked and my Newegg order had been auto split into two invoices
when i hit submit at Newegg so when Paypal froze my account i had 2 order frozen at the same time *pending.
When Paypal unlocked my account they only released 1 of 2 parts of the payment !
They kept one part with a payment of over $600 usd and no matter what and no where or who i talked to at Paypal
They insisted that Newegg was sent the money.
They were wrong and after the 3rd month i got them to admit and pay the damn money.

Want to hear the sick part ?
I had phoned Paypal customer service before hand to make sure there as not going to be a problem.
I told them i had not used my account for a while and had moved and needed to update my address
and that i was worried my order i was going to launch from Newegg would be stalled if i changed my address.
The person on the phone got a Paypal supervisor she said and they all talked and said i was fine and go ahead.
I went home and placed my order..
About 8 hours later my account was frozen and i was auto-blocked from their help forums.
with no where to turn and no explanation why and no contact warning me.
Then when i asked like i said they kept changing their story.
They woudl only ever in 3 months admit they will *proceed* with things if i get a signed affidavit
stating i broke their TOS.. which i am saying here is they never stated i woudl get my money back if i did that.
So i thought ya right.. why would i do that ?
They claimed i ran a money financial services business which is against their TOS
And all i did was withdraw cash to Paypal from BTC-E ..how is that a business i was running ?
I told them why are you letting some people do that and not others ?
Then i told them i see people selling coins on eBay
and i see people for years buying stuff for Second Life at the exchange Virwox.
No reply at all.. they never did say once i woudl get my money back.
I provided mind blowing amounts of pictures, id receipts invoices emails ..the works
and it was never enough.. they hoped the affidavit would scare me off so they could take my 5k

BTC-e was unaware people had problems with them ?
Funny i had googled the TOS violation email i got from Paypal and what did i see ?
A user here at Bitcointalk who got he same email exactly word for word. LOL

I sent them the affidavit and paid out of pocket.. a total of almost 3 months of pure raw hell !

Moral of the story i think here is guys haven't seen bad service yet ahhaha
And NEVER use Bitcoin .
I was treated like a criminal because i had used it.. Bitcoin is for criminals guys.

3 days and $80 dollars ? LOL
try 5 grand and three months.
and a guy i met had a similar story i seen on IRC
he was down 128k and it was going on a year and he had to contract a lawyer.

..guys don't even bother.. screw bitcoin and don't buy stiff online with it ever !
Leave bitcoin for Silk Road..
