JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon has issued new remarks about bitcoin, dismissing the digital currency's potential to survive in the long-term.

Speaking at the Fortune Global Forum, Dimon said people were wasting their time with digital currencies such as bitcoin.

He added:

"This is my personal opinion, there will be no real, non-controlled currency in the world. There is no government that's going to put up with it for long ... there will be no currency that gets around government controls."

There's another similar thread with another similar link as well in the following link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237980.0
Problem with him is, he speaks too much without knowing the whole picture and now everyone knows it...I don't know if thats how really he thinks but it seems that is a manipulative speech

Should we wait for govs to accept and use Bitcoin?
Bitcoin should be in the future a de facto money with its hundreds (hope so) millions users worldwide, whether govs liked it or not.

Governments will indeed be against this , but it's for the people to decide and not the governments . So there is really nothing they can do to stop us from using Bitcoin unless they shutdown the internet or all countries agree to block it or something (which won't happen) .

This.

I don't think shutting down the government though would even be a way to stop it because of the % of transactions that happen online with fiat.

I don't think that governments will ever be completely accepting of digital currencies at least within our lifetime at least in it's current form. On the other hand even if they don't accept it, I don't think the government will be able to ever squash digital currency. That said even if "bitcoin" doesn't survive from here on forward digital currency, in my opinion, is here to stay.

This is exactly the type of shit you look back 10 years later and have a laugh at the same time, while your Bitcoins are x1000 times worth what they were 10 years ago.

At first I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Did you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive (hey-hey)

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
But now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
and now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye
Did you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

That is my take as I have said in other posts...

Governments can't stop people from exchanging their stuff for whatever they want (even if it is camels, potatoes, or bitcoins).

Well, this was pretty embarrassing to watch. I guess they still haven't learned the lesson: You cannot stop a p2p decentralized open source network. Then again, im making a big assumption by thinking they know what any of that means.

The reason he says it wont work is exactly why it will! DECENTRALIZE!

The more govt corruption...
the more large profile hacks and security breached...
the more chaos in global financial markets..

People have had enough....

TRUSTLESS, DECENTRALIZED SYSTEMS WILL BECOME THE NEW NORM.

JP Morgan CHASE will not exist in 10 years or less

Or blockbuster video saying people won't stream movies online because they like shopping for them in person.
Roll Eyes
But the funny part is that Jamie Diamond seems to think we are looking for government permission to use bitcoin.  I don't give a rats ass what any government thinks about bitcoin. I'll be using it the rest of my life, and that's that.

A lot of old-money folks have these opinions (misconceptions?) about Bitcoin. It's OK. They are irrelevant in the future economy.
