http://bitcoinist.net/blockchain-technology-can-bring-counterfeit-halt/

Counterfeiting is a matter near and dear to all of our hearts, albeit fighting this trend seems all but impossible. Despite best efforts by government officials around the world, more and more counterfeit goods are making their way to legitimate marketplaces near you. Blockchain technology will play an important role in the battle against counterfeit goods, assuming manufacturers are willing to do something about this problem in the first place.

Article does not give any details on how this problem will be handled, just mentioned that the blockchain can solve the counterfeit problem by documenting each step of the manufacturing process.

I am clearly missing something as I just do not see how this will help. Its all very fine and well to document the whole manufacturing process on a blockchain but how will you 'mark' the actual goods at the end? Are you going to slap a serial number on them, if so then that same serial number will quickly also start appearing on the counterfeited goods.

As said, maybe I'm missing something but I just cannot see how the blockchain is going to help here, maybe because its Saturday  Cheesy
