Un-Watched Thread, Still Watching?

I'm wondering how to make a thread stop popping up in the "Show new replies to your posts" section. I assumed that Un-Watching a thread would make this happen , however this is not the case and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do?

not possible. that's why there's a watchlist in the first place, it's for the people that feels uncomfortable using the " Show new replies to your posts." page.

The only way to remove threads in the "Show new replies to your posts" is to delete the reply. You should use the watchlist. By default when you post, threads will be added to the watchlist. You can change and configure the watchlist, so use that instead. It is much better.

Thanks for all the replies guys; I'm aware of my options now and I'll just be managing my Watchlist more thoroughly.
Somehow I honestly just overlooked the fact that I even had a separate watchlist section.
