It was probably because the post was off topic for the thread. Also it may have to do with the fact that it is just a link, not information whatsoever. You should actually write something and reference the article instead of just pointing a link to it.

At first glance, it looks like you are advertising MMM global. It would be better if you said something about how they are scammy (as the link describes) and had something like "see this link for more information" at the end of the post to direct users to more information.

MMM is a declared Ponzi run by a guy named Sergei Mavrodi. In 1990 he made a disruption in Russian economy. According to Wikipedia from 5 to 40 million people lost up to $10 billion. Then he was jailed, but after coming out he made two more Ponzi MMM-2011 & MMM-2012. Both have failed. Currently he is running MMM Global which is spread across South Africa, India, Indonesia and many other developing countries.

I recently came across MMM Global Republic of Bitcoin through a reddit post. It seems many people are buying into bitcoin across the globe just to be part of this Ponzi. BTCC CEO Bobby Lee said the same to CoinDesk.

When this MMM Global Republic of Bitcoin will collapse, the effect will be catastrophic. Please do not confuse it as other petty Ponzis that run on Bitcointalk. It'll not only drown those who invested in the Ponzi, but may also take down the bitcoin price at ground zero. Please note that Mavrodi's Russian Ponzi was many times bigger than bitcoin's total market cap.

Hence, as theymos controls bitcoin.org, bitcointalk.org & /r/bitcoin, I'd request him to pin an awareness notification in all these sites.

MMM Global is a Ponzi thus it belings to the Investor based games. You posted on the Bitcoin discussion. Also the forum gets a lot of sappmy post regarding MMM woth those people creating new accounts just to promote their scam.

I'm relatively sure that they never have (either that or they haven't in a long time) and never will, regardless of how devastating it is. TBH, OP, my guess is that the post had little to no real content so it was deleted. It's really just a link and another link and then a request to close the thread; nothing describing where the links lead to and why.

No, it's because the post has no information about what you are posting. You literally just posted that text with colors so it stands out. It looks like you are trying to advertise MMM Global instead of giving a possible reason as to why the price has gone up. You need to give some more information and not just give a name. That doesn't help at all and it seems like spam or advertising.

Look, if you're too lazy to click on a link, I doubt even a lengthy homily about the evils of ponzis would have helped. Next time you ask someone "what's 2+2," I hope they sit you down and write out Russell's Principia Mathematica instead of telling you that it's 4.

But in this forum, there is an (overly)healthy dose of paranoia. People don't just click on random links because random links can sometimes lead to random malware which can steal all of your Bitcoin, which is not good.

If you are too lazy to put a super short, 1 sentence summary of the article, then why should people have to click the link and read the whole damn thing? Or at least something that states your position and then you give those links as references, for those who actually want to read them.

I would assume that as well. It was probably mistaken for the typical MMM spam we see here daily, reported as such and deleted.

Probably because MMM has been using bots to try and execute advertising spam. As soon as you make a somewhat promotional post it becomes hard for one to tell if you are a part of that group. Nobody likes the mention of MMM, not here nor anywhere else. However, to get the exact answer you'd have to wait for the mod who actually delete that post.

MMM is infact giving people a bonus % to the monthly returns to people that register a bitcointalk account with an MMM advertisement in the signature and a link to the website. Almost 50k people participate in the daily bonus activities sometimes more. It's actually real people that spam websites for an extra monthly 2.5%(? not sure about the exact number) on their deposits.

I was not aware of this. Thank you for sharing the information. In case you encounter such people report one of their posts. They will be dealt with swiftly. This is advertising spam (due to botlike behavior from newbie accounts). However I'm unsure in the case with OP.

It was probably just done in error. Mistakes happen occasionally as nobody is perfect though as you're a newbie I sometimes feel patrollers might rush in to handle a report too quickly and not bother checking it properly, though I can easily see how this might have been mistaken as spam as there's a lot of mmm shills spamming links to the ponzi. Feel free to post it again.
