According to the AMA this is a separate project from the ZeroCash project Zooko is working on. Zooko already has funding but it sounds like this group is still looking for money. I hate ICOs

I support their goal of privacy but when they say stuff like this:

For one, a malicious or compromised member of a ring signature can break privacy.

It makes you wonder if they truly understand how a ring signature works in current solutions of crypto that already exist. If you compromise the only party in the ring signature (yourself) then yeah you break privacy lol.

When you mix with other outputs in Monero you are the only person who knows what is really going on especially if you are using a high mixin number.

This is also based on new cryptography (not tested for a long period of time). But if you want to risk using it that's up to you.

They also do not address the drawbacks of using a zerocoin system as described by Dr. Adam Back:

you don't get speed without a trade off elsewhere in the system.

Where is that trade off? Not sure...they don't say where. Nor do they specify how their speed is achieved explicitly.

I'm not against zerocoin/zerocash but at the same time there are some glaring issues with its current form.

If they are indeed the same people then this isnt the FIRST implementation of zerocoin as they did zerovert in 2014 which ultimately failed.

Yes, same guys that launched zerovert, but hard to say if it is or is not the first implementation, since they never released the source code for zerovert, just let it kind of burn to the ground. Also, Gary Le is apparently a college dropout and kind of a scumbag:

Poramin did his master's under Matthew Green, so maybe the plan is to let the kids launch the implementation as a new coin next year. It's really not clear. Just have to wait and see...

Yes you did, but the problem is the way you did so. It looks more like accusatory propaganda than actual questions that wanted legit answers. Zerocoin still has a trap door (i.e. in the RSA accumulator)

Its possible to implement Zerocoin using RSA UFO's without a backdoor. This has been pointed out many many times

Hasn't answered questions directly related to his projects for over 5 days now.

I think it is safe to say that he either isn't serious about his project or had alterior motives he did not want to get close to discussing.
