I'm trying to backup my MultiBitHD wallet to an external drive, as I want to re-install Windows on my C:. However the instructions I'm finding online are vague, i.e. I can see no .wallet, .info, or multibit-data directory, in my AppData\Roaming folder as per link below...

https://multibit.org/en/help/v0.5/help_movingAWallet.html

Do I need these? Or if I wipe C: and re-install Windows, then re-install MultiBitHD I could recover everything with my password and wallet words?

MultiBitHD seems to have no simple backup to .key like Classic does.

You know how it is, the solution is probably simple as pie... but when you don't know, you're stuck.

Im doing this manually: Copying all stuff from %appdata%/multibit and moving to the safe place. Then I install new Multibit and copy everything back to the same place.

I do not know any other method, but if anyone knows, it would be happy to learn ..

That would work fine.

You can also use the automatically generated cloud backups to restore any given wallet:

The approach I've decided to take is to copy the MultiBitHD folder (as above) over to the external drive. Hoping that works out okay.

Wish there was a clearer way, like Classic does, just export the .key file.
