You realize that the whole thing is not a reenactment nor actual cases, right? All of it is scripted and it's all acting.
First, of course it's real cases. But yeah, some if it is probably scripted so they can get concise explanations from people. (Get over your paranoia!)

The scam happens when some 3rd guy gets suckered into buy something (sight unseen) and then is told to pay the person with bitcoins, and the person with bitcoins send said bitcoins to the person selling the "something". The 3rd guy never gets whatever it is he thought he was buying and then goes to the bitcoiner to get his money back.
