I got into bitcoin with the thrill of mining, but now that the difficulty is through the roof (my btc turned scrypt rig would make about $0.34/day), what is there to get into? As the price sort of stagnated, I'm wondering if anyone has interesting ways of earning bitcoins, or anything that might bring my interest back into something I once thought was amazing but now don't seem to have the time for (which is not what I want for btc's future)

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Signature campaigns are paying okish, you can make around 15-30 USD a week at hero tank.

Other than that, I don't think there are a lot of ways currently.

Working for as much money as your value commands and then using fiat to buy bitcoin. That's the best way to obtain Bitcoin. You could also try to sell goods or services on this Forum for bitcoin.

In the future (quite soon actually) there may be some legitimate BTC investment options. Right now you can buy penny stocks in BTC, but penny stocks can be risky.

Mining isn't just for the rich if you know what your doing.  Keep a close eye on the goods section and you can snag some good deals here and there, definitely enough to keep a good sized farm going if you know the different units and their current prices.

I agree. OP, you are a full member so you can join a good Signature campaign and make $12-$15 in Bitcoin per week without any miner and without high electricity bills. But don't spam or you might be banned.

Not too many options. Everything is to risky and full of scams, all of the so called investments, etc. What I would do if I was you, I would buy coins, as much as i can afford and stick them into a cold storage.

Then I would enroll into a signature campaign just to make some pocket change, that I can engage into discussions and help people!

ask yourself. what can you do in the real world to earn FIAT..

now put that same answer to bitcoin.

hint: get a job

for all these sig campain abusers. who spend all their waking hours making comments just to get $15 a week.. how about put ur C.V into all these 100,000 bitcoin businesses, asking to be customer service reps, replying to queries.. and earn yourself more than $15 a week..

now most jobs you would get $300 for 40 hours at $7.50.... which is better pay then 80 hours of forum abusing for signature commissions... and the best thing is..
if your happy doing 80 hours for $15.. then offer 40 hours of your life for anything above $15, so both you and employer profit..

His signature has "Click HERE for free totally legit free money" in it today. He should stop using it to offer "free money", and start using it to earn money through a signature campaign. It's been a few years since everyday people could mine Bitcoins with graphics cards. You have to either earn them or buy them now.

Well an alternative to mining for earning bitcoins could be receiving it in exchange for the services you offer to the public which I recommend to study some programming language as the fee's for programmers are pretty decent... you could also get involve in trading although requires initial knowledge plus dedication and luck but since you mentioned you don't have that much time then your best bet would be to invest on cheap 2nd hand mining equipment's as mentioned by DebitMe and then after some time reinvest the earned bitcoin using it into buying another mining equipment and do this until you have enough miners that satisfy you although this is a long term solution

There is so much more to Bitcoin than just a get rich quick scheme by mining Bitcoin. You can get Bitcoin by doing work and jobs like you do any other currency. It can be used to buy stuff. You can try to utilize Bitcoin and blockchain to make something that can potentially become profitable.

It's amazing how many times I have to tell people this same sentiment. Bitcoin is currency, that's it. Decide what you want to do first and then decide if you want to accept Bitcoin or Yen or Euro or Dollar for it.

It's hard to mine now i know, i sold all my rigs (that i could, some even couldn't be sold for anything more than dust so i kept them as souvenirs), but there
still are ways to get a hold of bitcoins. Just start small by offering some service you can offer people to, and then use profit to start your own lending service
with competing interests, and if you are careful about the collateral - your stash of bitcoins should start rising slowly over the time.
If you are searching for a quick way to get bitcoin funds on the other hand - just forget about it, those days are gone.

I wouldn't say mining is for the rich. I'd rather say it's for people who have quite a lot of money to begin with, that's for sure, but those people must also be willing to take risks, and accept a low return on investment for the foreseeable future. If BTC goes down again to say, $200, mining will be a terrible way to generate an income.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

I define "the rich" as "people who have quite a lot of money to begin with."

How do you define them...?

I would say the truly rich as born into it.
Those that say they made themselves rich from nothing, never tell you they had a trust fund to fall back on and that their daddys and mummys had insurance put out on themselves.  Cheesy
So truth told - don't ever believe the hype when someone tells you that they grew up from nothing and worked hard to make it rich. That is all BS in my opinion.
People tend to believe stories people tell them. Roll Eyes

i presume anyone happy to take home less than $300 a week, must be from third world currencies where the cost of living is much lower.
