Hi,

I think the official bitcoin wiki is here:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page

But recently, when using a search engine to turn up the bitcoin wiki, I ended up here:

http://en.bitcoinwiki.org/Main_Page

On that second wiki, I hit "random page", and ended up on a weird spam page about chocolate, kinda funny but not appropriate, as far as I can tell:

http://en.bitcoinwiki.org/Menu_In_Making_Unique_Chocolate_Items

Then, I searched "address" in the wiki's search bar and found lots of weird pages which are certainly not appropriate:

http://en.bitcoinwiki.org/How_Do_You_Know_If_Movers_In_Houston_TX_Are_Dependable_Or_Not?

http://en.bitcoinwiki.org/Abortion_Clinics_In_San_Diego_CA_Alternatives:_What_Choices_Are_Available_For_You?

Finding this kinda nonsense on a wiki about bitcoin seems kinda embarrassing.  Does anyone know who runs this alternative bitcoin wiki?  It seems to be full of weird spam that needs to be deleted.

Indeed, thanks for the link.  I guess the real question was sorta whether or not anyone knows who owns that domain and manages that wiki.  If it's someone on this forum, then maybe we could prompt them to clean up the spam and/or close their wiki and redirect to the main bitcoin wiki.  I think this second, spammy wiki just kinda looks bad makes it possible to miss the real wiki which seems much better maintained.

I guess I can send a PM.  It'd be nice if someone who knows him/her brought it up, though.  I don't really want to gripe all that much about it, I was just trying to bring it to the attention of the people who maintain the official wiki.  Maybe they can contact this Algur.

Is this site legit or is it just an advertising tactic?  I'm starting to doubt that all these clickbait-style articles are even individual users, or if they are this is a pretty stupid wiki.  It looks basically just like the main one except most articles are spam.
