There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Most people now days don't even know what money is, so what is he saying? lol

Apple Pay what a joke. On the Apple site it says "Now you can use your credit cards, store credit cards, and rewards cards with just a touch."  The last thing we need to do is encourage people to use credit cards even more. People still carry wallets around anyways (drivers license, cash, etc.) so what does using your phone do? Save 3 seconds over using chip and pin card?

I want to re-phrase that "Your kids will not know what Apple Pay is".

Apple is greedy and they want a share in the global payment systems. They had a better chance of achieving that 3 to 4 years ago when iPhone had a majority share in the mobile phone market. Now that Android is dominating, it's harder for Apple to push Apple Pay to merchants because not enough shopper have iOS devices.

Uh, my kids will. They will certainly know better than to trust a walled garden with their money. Obviously they will be using bitcoin and showing Tim Cook that he does not know what money is.

So money is a fiat ponzi scam that is 1 piece of paper that is only valueble until the gov says so, and can be systematically and automatically stolen at any speedrate from you?

Tim Cook, chief executive of Apple, ventured into territory often avoided these days: that of predicting the future of technology. Many have failed to correctly predict the rise and demise of tech, but Tim Cook may be onto something. Addressing Trinity College Dublin students, he said:“Your kids will not know what money is.”

However, why Tim Cook is so sure that I want my children to know what is the smartphone from Apple ?  Wink

In addition to tie all credit cards to one smartphone it's a bad idea ... but if it gets stolen or lost ?
