Better work on your original coin? same question PandaCoin will continue to exist. Old devs abandone PND, and lock all threads. Also, supply is too big.... over 35 billions coins, which is too much. Thats the main reasons why we working on new coin and trying to cut PND supply. This will give more value to both coins, in same time.

We already hard work on resurrection Here is a new thread for PandaCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1202623.0New coin will be completely different from PandaCoin, with much lower supply... but only way to get new coin is to swap your PND. After that you can earn new coin by staking or mining...

Better option is to include words like Shares, Credits, Tokens.... etc. Also supply must be lower than 70,000,000 ... just my 2 satoshis!

Coin with radio in wallet already exist. We need something much, much better... We thinking about making decentralized altcoin exchange implemented in wallet... and new coin will be base currency, along with Bitcoin, Litecoin and other big altcoins.

Thinking about name for new coin. Bitcoin named after bits in classical computers. Classical computers aren't going anywhere but a large part of the future, especially regarding cryptography will run on quantum computers that are based on qubits. New coin could be named Qubitcoin.

Lets discus about name, algo, services, swap, supply, everything .... I don't really have too many suggestions in those departments (I don't know a lot about the benefits of different algos etc, but i would support a rather sharp cut in total supply + i like POS coins, so i would suggest it stays as POS at some point) Ill keep my eye on this thread

I agree with you...just make it pos only Thats what we discus these days with rest of the team. New coin will be probably ICO+POS. 50% of total coin supply will be distributed trought ICO. Unsold coin will be burned and after launch you can get new coin with POS or POW+POS... We thinking about developing lightweight Android staking wallet, so its not need to leave your PC turned on all time to stake ...

Random thoughts................
Personally I like to see POS / POW mix
Android staking wallet good
Can I refer you to Vanillacoin - some good code there and android wallet is a full staking wallet
CPU only POW is good with some kind of flexible algo definition (if that's possible) so algo mix can be changed and new algo's added without hard fork
I refer you to my previous document re decentralised POW
A fundamental change from other currencies is needed - don't just do a clone and adapt it, take the best of the rest and build a coin with your own features. It's obvious now that clones of bitcoin may not be the best approach - there's too many of them.
ICO - I will reserve judgement - there is merit in crowdfunding for marketing, developement etc. and could be good for initial distribution. The risks are creation of an initial elite core of users that put others off - especially if POS only.

There is no such kind of risk if we make POW+POS after ICO. Everyone have a chance to buy PND on time and wait for swap Also, algo will be CPU only so anyone can mine, even with low end PC.

Let me just say I think this is a bad idea. The whole point of there being "35 Billion Coins" is so that it can feasibly be used as a currency. Limit the coins = limit the disbursement = limit the use. What good does swapping do other than just making another coin on top of the 500+ out there that nobody uses? PND already has a significant dispersion and is POS. Work on marketing it to merchants and retailers - make it a CURRENCY, and the value will rise exponentially.

The Elephant(s) in the Corner (that everybody's ignoring) is that unfair distribution and shady deals was the last undoing of PND, persons with access to huge amounts of unearnt PND undermining the price and the community. Even with a coin swap at 1000 to 1 these people will still have millions of coins to dump because the initial distribution put too many coins in too few hands. I see no reason why PND 2.0 wouldn't end up in exactly the same situation after the initial launch.
Some ideas:
An ICO would be a hard sell with the knowledge that there are so many outstanding liabilities on the coin even before launch, the btc I lost in PND is bad enough but that's life however I would not put that up again for the benefit of people who defrauded us.
Dev team show yourselves and stand behind this for all I know you could be trying to push PND up in the hope that more can be dumped. If you want this coin to be taken seriously in the light of previous shady events transparency is needed.
Develop a proper road map before you start pitching features that are not solid to the community, by all means solicit the community's ideas but first give them a framework or manifesto of what the objectives of PND 2.0 are.
Take an inventory of all PND assets that can be used. Wallets, blockchain explorers, partner sites, community devs, irc, faucets, miners, etc.
Find some funding to hire the devs and marketing team and have an open budget accounting system, you should be paid for your efforts.
Mining and POS throughout the coins lifetime with variable rates based on demand, asic resistant algo CPU/GPU only with moores law factored in.
I think the PND brand is valuable and if people can see the old rot has been cleared out and a genuine effort at transparency has been made you should stick with it. Just add real value and uniqueness to PND 2.0.
Anyway good luck and I'll be watching to see how this develops with great interest.

Plenty of time to go till the new coin is coming out so anyone interested can buy more for cheap and keep staking more. As i heard the burning is also in progress and more will be done to reduce the supply (therefore reducing the supply and increasing the potential value of the new coin). 2-3 months should be plenty of time to get everything ready before the launch and give everyone a fair opportunity to get any coins they want. I really hope the same exchange accept the new swap coin and maybe we can even get some bigger exchanges to join.

Why would you want to launch on halving day?
Wouldn't that be about the equivalent of premiering you new soap opera on TV during the Superbowl?

You know that by doing this maybe the actual problems with Pandacoin will never be solved? Maybe you could have done the other way around, for each retweet 1k Pandacoin get burned, it could be a better incentive rather then doing a distribution...

OP updated with Launch date counter.
Coin swap distribution will start 2 or 3 months before coin launch, so everyone have enough time to accumulate and stake PandaCoins
More details soon.
