Ethereum Mining Intensity..? (AMD GPU)

Hallo there world, I need help.

I've been mining Ethereum the past few days on my PC's GPU and a second PC's GPU with "ethminer"
The problem I have is with my GPU, a Radeon R9 380 4GB Gaming (Tonga) running on the Windows 8 OS. The GPU runs 100% usage and has slight drops to ~90% before returning to 100%
The core clock is stable and doesn't have drops. So I have a question, is there some sort of intensity option for AMD GPUs that I can configure? (I am not worried about the 100% usage as this is common in AMD GPUs whilst mining.((I think)) lel) Also, "--cl-extragpu-mem (my number in MB)" doesn't seem to function..? It just stops the program from mining if it is specified in the .bat I use.

I have noticed a few things aswell.  Mining ETH can be a pain in the arse.   I have noticed that everyone PCs act differently as well.  I myself use Windows 10 and it took me a LONG time to get it to work.  I just finally got everything working.

If you have 4GB GPU I wouldn't worry to much about allocating more to the cause ETH doesn't require anything over 4GB of mem.

I do know that some people like to underclock some of there cards as well.   They say they like emm to run at around 80% instead of 90-100%.

You sacrifice a few hashs for a longer GPU life.   Guess it ='s itself out.  Don't know otherwise.  Anyone else have any insite on this?

Also I to use Ethminer.  Anyone know if there is a command to add to the .bat file to select how many core you want to use?

I have a small GPU farm but I also have a few PCs I want to use to add a few hashes.   CPU mine with them.

Hope I helped at all and I hope someone can answer my questions as well.

There is a -t command to set how many GPUs you can use. There is no command for how many cores, such as using 1000 core instead of 2048 in 280x.

i missed this, what is the algo of ethereum? it's something anti asic for now? we can expect an update in the future to maintain gpu relevant forever?
if this is how it will be i might give it a try for the tiem being, if it is also profitable, but soemthing is telling me that it is not

Ethash, I believe. Also called Hashimoto-Dagger.
It's a denomination on dagger I think. Ethereum is currently 1000% asic resistant as it requires 2gb of VRAM to mine with a GPU. Asics are in the >100kb range and need a serious upgrade to compute ethereum's mining algorithm. They expect to keep Ether GPU only for upwards of 5 years, though things might change with ether's price.
With a dedicated 100GB/s asic machine you get a few mBTC a day. With a single modern (AMD) GPU you can expect (if converted from Ether to bitcoin) 10 mBTC per day! (also known as a bitcent!) It's quite profitable to be honest.

Ethereum PoW needs very fast GPU memory access. It is not about the memory bandwidth. So 280x works the same as 290x.

Hey guys, so i would like to start mining ethereum. Actually i did, but i cant find how to setup my miners better.
I was mining x11 before and it was all in the conf file, so my question is - how do you do the fine tuning in the ethereum miner?

yeah over time as the DAG getts bigger the GPU's hash slower and slower my 280xs were hasing at 26mh/s back in november now they are down to 22mhs

I did find that my 380s do not suffer from this degradation , they hashed at 18mh/s back then are are the same now.  So this might mean that newer 300 class GPU's have faster ram than the older GPUs' /shrug

everything stock bro , i dont have time to babysit 30+ GPUs lol, the 280x are saphire vaporx , and the 380s and ASUS 4GB models all stock setting

For sapphire 280x, it should be able to run 1000MHz core at 1.1v or lower. If you undervolt, you can save a lot of money.
