Hi, so I just started mining and I keep getting this popping up in my batch file:
stratum from pool 0 requested work restart
stratum from pool 0 detected new block

This just keeps popping up over and over again. I am use cgminer 3.7.2 and here is my batch file:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setxGPU_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.hashfaster.com:3122 -u HighlyAdaptive.mgt -p mgt1 -I 12 -w 256

Please help! Smiley

I have often problems and so far i have not found why.
often by me it is after a connection with internet.
...then impossible to mine.
and suddently all works...after few hours or few days.

I have noticed that problems occured after my computer gone in "save mode"...
Now I have just the screen in "save mode" and it seems ok after a "screen safe mode"

Do you remember after what you had your problem?

It's normal, don't worry.

Simply, it means that the pool has detected a new block and you are not mining that block yet.
A stale share is when you submit a share from the pools' last block and it is "stale" The pool sends out a work restart message to keep all the miners up to date mining the current block.
It's not an error nor should you worry about it, especially GPU mining (which I suggest you refrain from doing on scrypt/sha256d algorithms as you'll earn little)

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.
This means I'm poor, I guess.

Why are you using a very old version of cgminer?
And gpu mining is pretty useless..  I'd suggest getting an Asic miner.

I'm curious to know how much satoshi you mine per day...

if you're solomining this is ok, you can add scantime to 1 to reduce stale, and not making the miner read block that are already solved by the pool
and also you can add expiry to 1
