I was wondering if any of the biggest companies in the world (Microsoft, Dell, Apple, Mc Donald...) accept to pay his employees in Bitcoin. If none actually propose it, it's sad because it's still impossible to live outside the fiat system Sad.
So, do you know one ? Or do you know a small/medium company around where you live that do this ? As for me I do not.

Personally I don't know anyone who receive payment in bitcoin for his daily job. But I've seen some info about that around the web, you can read more:

That's interesting but unfortunately it's only technology-related companies. I can't wait to see the day where supermarket employees will be able to be paid in Bitcoin. Also that's surprising that a big parts of the companies that the two press articles talk about are from Canada.

i don't think these mega companies will decide to pay out their employees in bitcoin in the near future, if ever. i am not sure anymore what company it was, but the employees there have received their holiday money fully in bitcoin.

Ah my bad.

Paying salaries in bitcoin will not happen this coming years. Bitcoins volatitly prevents it.

Ask yourself, would you take such huge volatiliy risks and end up paying your employees 30% more?

Salary payment is end of the month prompt. No chance to hold it a few more days to cut losses.

I was talking about companies that pay his employees in Bitcoin, not that accept Bitcoin as a way of payment.

I was not aware of the Canadian legislation about Bitcoin. That's a positive thing. I hope that someday such laws will come to France.

If Bitcoin ever goes mainstream, that's highly possible that big companies accept to pay his employees in bitcoins, especially if they're from the technology sector.

The price volatility is not a problem. Let's say that you buy 20 000$ of bitcoins to pay your employees, if the price increase three days later and make that those 20 000$ are now worth 30 000$, you don't lose money, you just don't win it. Since your employees need to be paid every month the same, you just buy how much their salary is worth in bitcoins at the payday.

You can always buy Bitcoin with your paycheck so i dont see any problem there. In my country you cant be paid in dollars or euros for example, you can only take local currency and change it for any other.

I find that buying bitcoins is not an easy task. Also, being paid directly in bitcoins saves you money from transaction fees.

are you seriously ? i think buying bitcoin is easy task
you can use localbitcoin or local exchanger
or you can buy paypal/PM/payeer with your local currency then change it to bitcoin

I think some company give salary with local currency is better than bitcoin it's more stable currency, and i doubt every worker know about bitcoin except biggest company/online company like microsoft

I have heard time ago that exist a company in Poland in which the employees accepted to be paid in bitcoin. Because it is not only the owner who can decide in this question. Must be accepted even by employers. The market of bitcoin is very limited. So maybe most of the people may have no desire to accept to be paid in bitcoin. Needed to convert those in the local currency and this has fee. So their salary become fewer. I don't know if the above company continue to paid its employees in bitcoin because have not heard more from that but I think that are very few the companies which can use bitcoin as a payment method. Bitcoin has limited potential of use (most of the people spent almost all their money out of internet): so this kind of payment is not very convenient in our days.

A bitwage solution is perfect for adoption, like others here state the potential loss (volatiliy) will scare companies.

Maybe a solution where the company buys the coins and 1 hour later the coins are paid to the employees is the one to go with.

If nothing's changed I believe BitPay would pay their employees a percent of their salaries in Bitcoin. I know of a few small companies that pay in bitcoin and many freelancers have received payment in bitcoin. The problem - in my country at least - is that you would actually have to pay much much higher taxes if you're not getting paid in the local currency.

It's not easy but it's getting easier and easier! Trust me, just last year was much harder.

I wouldn't want to be paid in Bitcoin completely either. It's still too risky in my opinion and my kids must eat every day. I am still not willing to take this risk!

Overstock.com obliges their employees to receive 10% of their salaries in Bitcoin. I haven't heard of others!

There's was a company that was non related to bitcoin and payed more than half of it's employees in bitcoin (can't find the website), I think it was a spanish company but for some reason, can't find it (they had a very nice professional looking website design). Here you could see some of the known companies that pay in bitcoin although not entirely updated:

There aren’t many financial benefits to a company paying employees in bitcoin, but there may be recruitment benefits, Mire said. After all, technology employees often have plenty of love for bitcoin, and good skills are hard to find, especially in Mire’s industry sector.
you can read more here, its simple example, employee from exchange maybe paid their salary with bitcoin.

I am yet to hear of any company that pay in bitcoins. they are yet to accept it but with time I believe they will use it especially the technological based companies. If you read this and you are an employer, why dont you consider paying with bitcoins? maybe you could answer that question better. And if you dont have a good reason not to, then you should start paying using bitcoin. lets join hands and promote it for better value

There cannot be global consensus on the bitcoin ban. So even if it is banned, it technically isn't banned. They really cannot enforce this ban either to stop people from owning bitcoins. They can only ban people from acquiring bitcoins, which would create a black market. We've seen how that shit goes with drugs nowadays.

However getting salaries in bitcoin won't happen in the near future, however there are services that convert your entire salary to bitcoin.

It's surprising to see Canadian companies adopting bitcoin currency. Many companies here pay vouchers or gift cards in exchange of the tax we need to pay but to get an entire salary as bitcoins is not acceptable for me as the price keeps fluctuating a lot. I cannot take any losses when I exchange it for fiat but I can accept it as a token or in exchange of the taxes I pay.

So, do you know one ? Or do you know a small/medium company around where you live that do this ? As for me I do not.

We are on the spectrum of the "smallest companies in the world"...

Any incoming bitcoins to Bees Brothers immediately gets paid out as wages to 3 teenage boys and their little sister (different ratios for each depending on their labor contributions ... not according to needs  Wink...).
They have also started hiring part-time help and have offered them to receive wages in bitcoin, but so far they hired help has wanted fiat.

A few times they have used bitcoin to pay for business expenses or equipment, but mostly we use fiat for that, and they keep the bitcoin.

if any company wants to pay in bitcoin then i think the payout will also vary on every payday because due to heavy fluctuation of bitcoin price how can he fix a pay which values differently on each payday. so i think it will be good only for daily wager pay. if any site is paying for online job in bitcoin , then i am also ready for that work.

In most countries, this is illegal. Since there are taxes and various charges on salaries, they must be in the currency which is legal tender, and that excludes BTC. But you can easily get your salary wired to a company which will exchange your fiat into BTC. At least one person on this board is doing that.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

oh yeah, thats possible. The thing is that we want to cut loose of the Fiat currency, getting paid in BTCBTC is the only way that can help us away from Fiat currency.

In most countries, this is illegal. Since there are taxes and various charges on salaries, they must be in the currency which is legal tender, and that excludes BTC. But you can easily get your salary wired to a company which will exchange your fiat into BTC. At least one person on this board is doing that.

they can declare at the end of the years their income in bitcoin, i see no problem with that, i'm not sure how it would work if there is no exchange with fiat

bitcoin should not be taxable without dumping them firstly for fiat...

It depends what the company is. If it is a bitcoin company, say coinbase, it would probably give the option, as everyone is smart enough to have a basic idea of what the company root work for is all about.

But somewhere like MacDonalds? I really don't feel that have an incentive now l nor need to switch to bitcoin
MacDonalds is doing just fine paying out in fiat.

Even if it is illegal, laws can pass and thus make it not illegal. If enough people make pression on the government, they will start to accept taxes in Bitcoin because they can't miss so easy money.

Bitcoin is not not much popular in my country but i have a question.
How can the employer be sure that he is not loosing by investing then paying in bitcoin their employees.
Should he pay fixed bitcoin amount or flexible bitcoit amount based on the currect bitcoin price?

I do not know any company that offers salaries in terms of bitcoins and I do not expect it to happen very soon. The reason I am saying this is because the top companies do not want to spoil the reputation they have spend time and resources building. Bitcoin is still tainted the picture of being used by criminals and therefore just accepting it anyhow. There are also other persons who do not like trading with bitcoins and therefore they won t be able to support such like argument.

I think it should be flexible. But in order to put a such thing in practice, employer have to buy it the same day as payday.

One big reason about companys doesnt pay with bitcoin is the volatility of bitcoin as the fact you must exchange your bitcoin into fiat since you cant buy a potato with bitcoin yet.The other side is if you earn 2000dollars and you got paid on that day base ,and next day bitcoin drop you will get pissed as hell, and if the bitcoin up on the next day the boss will get pissed as well soo these are maybe the questions about being paid or not with bitcoinl

its really hard to find company that pay their worker with bitcoin, and if you really want to live outside of fiat system you need to try to work on website that hiring service ,probably they'll gladly pay you with bitcoin
But If you that kind of company means that very good and powerful way right. and those kind of companies are doing salary payment to employees to reduce their transaction fees for banking system. If this BTC system comes to large number of MNCs means Bank will sure get affect.

That is why you have to exchange your bitcoins to FIAT almost instantly after receiving your payment if you want to to keep value of your wage on the same level.
It is not so hard, and 95% of bitcoin accepting merchants are doing it anyway. The good side of it is that you can exchange say, 70% of your wage and keep the rest stored as investment!

It depends of the country where you live. That's true that most of the people haven't heard of Bitcoin at all, but an increasing number of people have heard something about it, but in the negative side Undecided.

i would keep everything now that the price in increasing, exchanging now would be idiotic, also you cna use bitcoin directly on various site, so why exchanging and wasting time and money?

not to mention that some of those site offer a big discount if you use bitcoin with them, so you save even more money

There is a company called Wagepoint which does payroll software, which is set up to allow employers to pay in bitcoin if they want:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/wagepoint-us-companies-can-now-pay-employees-bitcoin/

But only a handful of companies have taken up the option.

I do not think that many companies would pay in Bitcoins because it is just not that handy for most people. You cannot pay your bills with Bitcoins so you will have to sell you Bitcoins, for the most people that is to much of a problem.

I would not like to be paid in Bitcoin because then you will have to sell them your self if you want to have cash in your pockets. I think that it is also not possible to pay your bills with Bitcoins.

If you are paid with Bitcoins you might encounter with unconvinienses of course but I'd accept them. It's not so hard to exchange your coins these days if you need fiat for paying bills etc. But what I like is that the remaining part of your payment might constantly grow in its dollar value.

I haven't come across companies paying with bitcoin, but if such thing happens at times employees will be benefited and at times employers will be benefited depending upon the price variation happening around the day of salary.

Some time ago Microsoft USA accepted  bitcoin for their BTC i read.

Not sure if they still accept it.
I would not want to work for a companies that pays in Bitcoins because I cannot pay my bills and food in Bitcoins.
So it would be a whole thing to sell every salary of Bitcoins and stuff.

I am not sure if they are companies that really pays their employees in bitcoin it seems that this maybe be difficult and it may need some approvals from their government and some considerations that would create a lot of papers to signed. But this maybe possible the sooner if bitcoin is allowed by a country to exist as another form of money and runs to different institute like the banks and companies. But as for this may take some time and pass a bill to the congress and approved by the president to be legal..

There are quite a few companies that are currently paying their employees in bitcoins. Some names are Fairlay, Mastercoin Foundation, BitShares, APIcoins, Dana Crowdfunding, Bitcoin Block Explorer - Blockchain.info and SC5.

Here is the list of some more companies that pay in btc.

I don't have such experineces and I think paying in Bitcoin is stil a bit risky. Recently I've read the article that one IT company in Ireland is paying the empoyees half in fiat half in Bitcoins. In the future that could be more common.

you are right. during this time I have never seen a company with bitcoin payments. but for now I think it would be very risky, because the current price of bitcoin was unstable, but I agree with you, maybe in the future will be very much companies are paying with bitcoin

But here on this forum you are working as a marketer of Bitmixer, and they are paying you in bitcoin and I am seeing that you are happily accepting that payment in bitcoin, so when a better opportunity comes where you will get more higher salary and where you will need to replace your previous company then I am sure you will readily leave your previous company.

Well I rather that my full job pay me in fiat not in bitcoin so that it is secured and will not be lessen because of any price drops. Well it's good to accept bitcoin for side jobs and jobs that you do just for past time because it is easier to receive with bitcoin online. I think that there are some companies that pays in bitcoin and it is the starters of the yobit signature campaigns.  Grin

You think they don't really want  bitcoin or they just don't know and not aware what's bitcoin? Most companies that doesn't pay in bitcoin does not even know what bitcoin is. So how can they use it.

lol i don't think that these companies are paying their employees in bitcoin because it is not like a real currency and also bitcoin has no fixed value so it is not a good idea to pay in bitcoin .

I haven't come across companies paying with bitcoin, but if such thing happens at times employees will be benefited and at times employers will be benefited depending upon the price variation happening around the day of salary.
If that companies started to adopt bitcoin for their payment of their product and for the salaries of their workers then yes everyone will benefit from bitcoin as bitcoin will get a strong support and with the time bitcoin will become more stronger.

If the big companies start to accept and use bitcoin then a system will established where you will be able to buy food and pay your bills with bitcoin, at that time you will not need to sell/convert your bitcoin to fiat.

I think in that case we need some stability in the price of bitcoin , so that will be a better benefit for the employers, because in fluctuation along with price rise there is also a fear of price drop, so if the stability occurs, no one will have that fear.

I would like to get payments in btc, that sounds like awesome idea. That is what btc need, and I think people who work for online btc casinos, btc sites are paid in bitcoins.
It's a bit tricky cause of price fluctuations, but that can be good sometimes, what mkre very good. We see price is rised a lot since new year, people who signed some contracts then are in good profit now.

I hope early adopters, and people who have a lot of btc will think about making companies and give salaries in bitcoins. That will make bitcoin grow more then anything until now.

It's risky to receive his salary in Bitcoin, this is why people do not like it.
It is possible that by the time you receive your salary, the price of Bitcoin is high, then it decrease.
You will have lost money.

Not only it is risky but also we dont have any such infrastructure. For this to happen every employee need to have a bitcoin wallet address and also he need to have the know how of bitcoins and how to convert it in Fiat to be able to use it on physical stores.

it is good enough to pay with bitcoin, but I think for ordinary people who do not know bitcoin definitely not going to join in the company, because they do not know what it bitcoin. but if there is a company like that, I wanted to join, because it will certainly be very cool

I don't believe there will be a large company / small who want to use bitcoin as a payment because bitcoin user is still very little and still too many bad issues about bitcoin at out there.

I also do not see a company like Microsoft using Bitcoin to pay the people that work for them, or as a payment at for example at the Microsoft store.
Maybe in the future but even then I would not see it happening.

I do not know any companies that pay in Bitcoin but to be honest I do not think that it is really handy because of bills and food that you have to pay with money.
I only would do it if you are able to pay you bills as well with Bitcoin.

As for me I do not.

i think that it is too early to ask for that because bitcoin is not that popular yet to companies to pay their workers in bitcoins, i think they will play in 5 years

I do not know any companies that pay in Bitcoin but to be honest I do not think that it is really handy because of bills and food that you have to pay with money.
I only would do it if you are able to pay you bills as well with Bitcoin.
I have seen reports from users who are managing to pay the bills using Bitcoin. This is probably not something that is possible in all countries, but over time it will certainly be one of the results of Bitcoin's expansion.

When Bitcoin achieve more adoption and stability this will become more common. There are currently few places accepting the currency and there is still a lot of volatility.

It may have some companies paying with bitcoin, but those company are developers companies soo they get paid in bitcoin and they should pay with it to developers, but i dont believe big companies will even think about it, as they can get pissed when they make a payment of 2000 dollars, around 4 btc and then price up and it worth 4000dollars, even with they purchasing bitcoin at daily price and making the payment like that they will do the match.

Personally I don't know anyone who receive payment in bitcoin for his daily job. But I've seen some info about that around the web, you can read more:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/canadian-companies-start-paying-employees-bitcoin/

or

http://www.coindesk.com/companies-paying-employees-bitcoin/

That's interesting but unfortunately it's only technology-related companies. I can't wait to see the day where supermarket employees will be able to be paid in Bitcoin. Also that's surprising that a big parts of the companies that the two press articles talk about are from Canada.

Some time ago Microsoft USA accepted  bitcoin for their BTC i read.

Not sure if they still accept it.

I would not be able to work for a company that pays in Bitcoin because that means that you salary is not stable at all.
You salary will only be stable when the price of the Bitcoin it self is stable ass well.

Ask yourself if you still base it in USD rate and just pay thru bitcoin will it cost anything? I bet no. Would be great if companies just pay thru bitcoin even the rate is in USD since it will still help the community to get demand.

I'm not sure, never worked at these companies. Microsoft may at one point have allowed payment in bitcoin, but probably not any more. But why use that when you can use bitwage? Grin
nope i think they do not accept bitcoin as a payment. even they themselves may not know about bitcoin. they are not related to bitcoin so it was quite natural that they do not accept bitcoin

I don't like the idea that being able to buy a bmw today, and hyundai the other day. Bitcoin is too damn volatile. Unless they fix it, (i know there is nothing to fix tho) it is a bad idea to use bitcoin as a default currency.

%99 (at least) of the People will just convert their money into FIAT anyway. You can't stop it. If you think that %1 is very important for bitcoin's future, i don't know.

It will be great when companies like these adopt such measures.

Overstock is such a company. It pays the employee with bitcoin.  It might also issue stocks with block chain.

you're definitely wrong, you could add money in your microsoft account with bitcoin and it had been explained here https://commerce.microsoft.com/PaymentHub/Help/Right?helppagename=CSV_BitcoinHowTo.htm by microsoft officially which mean they're accepting bitcoin as part of their business so there's still a possibility

I never heard of or have read of companies or a company that pays his employee with bitcoins.  Maybe one day, companies will give a choice to their employees if they want their salary a bitcoin or cash.  Let us wait for that day when bitcoin will be included or be part of the currency being used today.

Recently there was an article in newspaper that some It company in Ireland is paying a part of the paycheck in Bitcoins. I forgot the name of the company but I think more and more such copmanies might follow their example.

I don't see any profit and interest in paying by bitcoins in such well known and rich campaigns that you called here. Price for bitcoin is not stabile. Just five days ago it lost more that 100$ Cause of Bitfinex hacking. For example a company pay you 1btc per month and one month you get like 1000$ and another 500$. Will it be fair for you? I don't think so. But here there are tans if campaigns that pay not bad money for commenting. I think it is the best variant if you wish to get salary in bitcoins. You don't invest so much salary. Your rank is high, must be you know that without all those words.

Once you have service providers like bitwage established in your country, any company will be able to pay you in Bitcoin.
It is no big deal really.

Most of the biggest bitcoin companies will probably offer their employees an option to get paid in bitcoin but i don't think there would be many if any normal companies offering this yet because it means they would have to purchase btc just to pay employees so it would not be financially viable.

I get paid some of my wage in btc so i dont have to pay big buy fees but that is all done via a 3rd party company.

in my country only few company can give bitcoin as salary, maybe only 3company, but the owner give option to receive salary in fiat, not forcing to pay in bitcoin.
