The system of informal money transfers known as “hawala” is hard to control. That is why terrorists may prefer it to bitcoin, says the Head of Russian E-Money association Dr Viktor Dostov.

Hawalla is a hard target. It is part of traditional Islamic banking and is based on trusted members. I also think this is more of a problem than bitcoin for terror funding. It leaves no paper trail or blockchain reference.

I'm sure Bloomberg will make sure and mention this the next time they bring up bitcoin: a wire transfer is better for terrorists to use than the easily trackable bitcoin. Especially since the hactivists just lynched their bitcoin account and stole damn near 10k coins.
