Hey guys,
currently i'm handling a bit more than 1000$ of btc on cex.io and i would like to know if you'd recommend me other marketplace where i could trade? I don't like to put my assets in one place.
I don't do risky trade, i don't care if there is a correct amount of fee because i don't look for numerous scalpel trades, i want a place safe secured where i know i'll be able to withdraw my benefits without problem ^^

I personally have taken a liking to YoBits. It is a smaller trading platform, but I am liking trading with them. There are a number of different coins you can trade with and when new coins come out, they alert you. If you use these forums to do your research and YoBits to trade, you will make out if you pick the right currency!! Click the link in my signature if you would like to try this out.

I use the below mentioned links for all my trades .They're safe secure and all transactions are carried out with the help of an escrow.Again ,it totally depends based on your trade requirements .I exchange btc's to other currencies or btc to National Bank Transfer in local currencies. bitstamp and kraken are great for trading. kraken is quick with posting euro deposits. it has worked well so far. bitfinex and btc-e are good as well.

I don't trust c-cex completely. So if got my money at Kraken, Coinbase and Bittrex. They are solid and reliable exchanges. Before I was trading at cryptsy too, but these days it seems they have gone mt gox. |

Spreading your capital is mandatory. If you leave it on all on 1 exchange and they go bankrupt, you can say buh bye to your money.
Best way is spread it accross multiple large exchanges or safe it in your wallet if you don't use it.

For me Bittrex and Poloniex + BTC38 are the prime exchanges. They offer good and fast support.
And they are reliabe in the way that they won't go bankrupt or scam.

I can recommend Bittrex very much. I had some tickets and they were replied to in less then 4 hours.
Not just 1 tickets but over 4. A friendly employee replies and you can see they make an effort to help you.

Yup I agree with you.kraken have good features like it has combination of Forex and BTC exchange in one comprehensive service and it has Big security and It has 4 tier verification and supports litecoin and namecoin too. and Bistamp also good for trading. |

Ok well thanks for your answers! I'll still trade with cex as they have been incredibly reactive and friendly, they answer my question and technical problems in less than 30 min on average so I can't really wish better  But it seemed important (and you comfirmed it) to spread my investments. From what you say i keep Bittrex and Kraken in mind. Are they only for btc or do they have some altcoin too? I don't know a lot about altcoins so I'm not going to trade them often (especially as they're even more volatile than btc) but I'd like to have the possibility. Thanks for your returns again! |

Bittrex have Alternative coins as far as I know , Kraken have also altcoins as I can see on their their homepage but not like Bittrex , Alternative coins may get you a good profit however make sure to invest in coins that you see potential on and not on every pre-mined created altcoin out there . Now to answer your first question , I personally wouldn't use exchanges at all because they defeat the purpose of using Bitcoin on the first place (being anonymous) . Those exchanges ask for personal details such ID , Passport etc ... so I'd prefer to trade in forums like here on BItcointalk where there is Currency exchange section . I can trade with the rates that fits me and with any payment method I want . Good luck and feel free to ask any questions if you have some . |

Thanks for posting these links. I had no idea of where to view which exchanges had more volume. Personally, I use coinbase exchange. The somewhat lack of options make it simpler to use and I like it. Volume is also good. |

Until now i used Crypsty, but there are some troubles over there at this moment.
Someone recommended me Poloniex. Tomorrow I will try this exchange.

Word of advice for you OP, you say that you are not a risky trader but you wish to hold $1,000 on the exchange. This is about 3 BTCs and that's quite a lot of money to hold on a single exchange, especially if these are all of the bitcoins that you hold!
God forbid that exchange goes bust, you would lose all of your money!

i started trading with cryptsy, then they fucked up the speed of their exchange and i changed to bittrex and poloniex, the most reliable right now imho
for btc only i prefer kraken, because it is very fast with the money transfer for my bank, since they are both german banks

To be precise i hold 3.7 btc here and I agree that's a lot of money but it's no use to trade with less, unless you do risky trades (which i don't) ^^ But it's not all I hold, and you're right I don't want to put evrything in the same basket, that's why I was asking this question =) |

While I used to trade, I held always more than 2 BTCs on exchange. Back in the days btc was around $600 so I held even more money Fiat wise than you. Mostly on BTER I did my trading and believe it or not, but the night before the hack, I withdrew my funds out of BTER. So luck is important as well!  But the important thing is that these are not your only coins! Good luck! |
