My exchange of choise is Bitstamp since 2013. Beside fully trading at Bitstamp I also do some occasional trading on BTC-E. I never hold coins on an exchange if I am not trading at that moment. If I am done trading for the moment, I cash out everything to my pc wallet. If I want to do some trading again the next day, I simply deposit the coins again.

BTC-e for me. I've traded for a short time on Coinedup and Cryptsy during the crapcoin-frenzy in the final months of 2013, but the speed (or better said: lack of speed) of those sites nearly made me eat concrete. BTC-e has been around since 2011 and is fairly stable, but ofcourse you've got the 'usual' risks that every crypto exchange has.

For me is mainly BTC-e, Bitstamp and sometimes Paymium. Tried some others back in the days, but none of them worked out for my type of trading.

In the last months I also use Cashila.com to cash out bitcoins quickly to my bank account.

Are there any good exchanges you can recommend where I can trade not with Euro but with BTC to GB Pounds directly?

In addition to BTC-e, I've now also created an account on Bittrex. I've send a very small amount of BTC over there to trade with various altcoins (some of them I can't even pronounce) in an attempt to gain BTC, but things haven't yet worked out the way I want.

Personally I trade on our local exchange named coins.ph and its really nice trading with it but if I were to recommend you, you should check out bitfinex or bitstamp, they probably the top exchange sites right now. And if you're also interested trading with other cryptos, you can try yobit or poloniex
