I'm doing a paper on cloud mining and I'm in the research stage.  Could you give me some links to which ones are the best in the industry.  I've started research on Genesis Mining and I was wondering which other ones are among the top.

bit-x has a clean reputation, and has always payed me... Hashnest is clean to (AFAIK), but i've never used them.
I also tested out accumining, reasonable chance they're not legit, but they're still paying up untill now

Genesis Mining is pretty big with over 50k costumers. Also KnC cloud and mining sweden.

Genesis mining eats up pretty big chunk in fees, but the hashing power is lifetime. Mining Sweden has VIP shares where you can earn from a pool of 25% of the companys profits, however Mining Sweden works more as a hosting service where you have to pay for electricity for yourself.

How indepth is this paper need to be?  Bit-x was suggested the good thing about it is you can point to Bitfury hardware so gives you some more info you can add to paper, depending if  you need filler.

If you really need even more info or filler on paper Hashnest you could do all the way down to specific miner.  So even more detail depending on what part you show.

But I think the how indepth and what you need to show is going to be key to what is a good or bad site to show.

Are you doing a paper on the legit cloudmining services out there, which are not too many or are you also doing a research on usefulness if cloudmining in general since this would be a completely different story in my opinion!

But yes, as others have suggested Bit-X and Hashnest are the leaders and two of the few that are not scammers!

Not that indepth as of now.  I'm still doing a general research on the legit and successful ones and find out who they are.

But the general idea of the paper will be the evolution of cloud mining.

Well you won't have too many to mention unfortunately! Altogether I think that idea of cloudmining is a complete waste of time and something that has brought Bitcoin more bad than good!

Legitimacy of Cloud Mining is proven only when the cloud miner is providing its mining address(es) and sold hash power in real time. Showing hardware, having vouch from hardware vendor, showing payment proof, showing hardware's photo/video - can all be faked. In fact, all of them have been faked already by various players before they went belly up. But, none of the current players still show their mining address(es) and sold hash power in real time. So, you can safely assume, either they have no hash power or involved in partial reserve mining. Both makes them Ponzi. So, below is a list of cloud miners in alphabetical order, that are currently paying but have not proven that they are NOT Ponzi...
